We Reached our Goal!
We did it! The first phase of the deck is done.
I didn’t think we could finish with James gone and so much happening this week. But the kids and I got out there and knocked it out.

We live in the Texas Hill Country in an 85+ year old farmhouse that we have slowly redone.
I took a few days off of the deck project to come into the air-conditioning and cool off.
I had planned a luncheon for the officer moms in our homeschool group.
The other evening, my six-year-old brother Elijah was excitedly telling me how he loved making bookmarks. Since I had just been looking for one, I had an idea.
I don’t usually do garage sales. I rarely find them to be worth my time. But a sweet friend of mine was having one this past Saturday, so I decided to pop by and say hello.
The Lord is so good to cheer me up when I am feeling low.
So I prayed. God reminded me to count my blessings.

Why, oh why, did I ask to build a deck around the pool this week?
Besides James being exhausted from his finals and me being exhausted from dealing with my dad’s hospitalization…..it’s HOT!!!!
