Garage Sale Score

I don’t usually do garage sales.  I rarely find them to be worth my time.  But a sweet friend of mine was having one this past Saturday, so I decided to pop by and say hello.

That’s when I spotted four old mason jars. “I’ll take those,” I said.  She replied with a grin….”I KNEW you would want those!”

Then I found a few more goodies.  I paid and left before I spent any more money.  Whew!  I can see why so many of you enjoy going to these things….dangerous!

I’m so happy about my prizes….

That little pitcher has a pretty shape, but it was outdated.

So I pulled out some spray paint  and viola!

I sprayed it white and then dusted it with a cream color.  It gave it a “pottery” look, don’cha think?

I also painted the frames and hung them on this lonely wall.  It is hard to know what to do with a spot that has a thermostat and return air vent.  This works for me.  But I think I need a few small frames to go inside of the big ones.  I may have to hit a few more of those nasty garage sales.

The big fan sitting in the doorway isn’t too pretty, but this old house gets so hot.  That thing keeps us cool, so I don’t mind its ugliness.

Go check out Layla at The Lettered Cottage for more fun garage sale finds!

  2. Garage sales can be hit or miss! Looks like you hit! I would never have thought to paint a piece of ceramic. Good thinking!

  3. I never thought I’d see the day… you went to a garage sale. And you scored. Very, very nice. Actually, I’m not surprised you scored. You always do. Next thing you know, I’ll hear you went to Good Will. 😉
