The Luncheon

I took a few days off of the deck project to come into the air-conditioning and cool off.

I had planned a luncheon for the officer moms in our homeschool group.  So it was a great time to come in, take a shower and clean the house.

I pulled out my adorable summer dishes and made a cheery, summery table….

Since we have 2 tables in our dining room/school room I can set the table all up the day before.  So all I had to do the day of the luncheon was get the food all ready.  Oh yes, and keep the children out of the house.  Sadly, I can’t do that part the day before.

I found these little napkins several years ago and had to have them.  It perfectly describes the way we live.

The next day I simply set all of the food out and I’m ready for my guests…..

Chicken salad, fruit, nuts, crackers, veggies and a brownie for dessert.

The little yellow daisies add a fresh touch.

I alternated 2 different place settings.

A slushy lemonade hit the spot on a hot summer day….even though we were inside.  It had mint in it….yummo!

I love avacados.  They make me happy.

The luncheon was a great success.  We planned for the year and we fellowshipped.  You can’t go wrong with these ladies….they are a treasure!

I guess I have to let the kids back in the house now.  Maybe I’ll just have one more glass of that lemon slush before I open the door.

  2. What an awesome looking table! And the food looks delicious. I don’t think there is any way I could have kept my kids off that table…they would have been picking the locks on the doors. 😉

  3. This is a great tablescape…quite sophisticated…it could hold its own in an upscale restaurant any day of the week! Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
