The weekend was quick and full. When I got to my parent’s house Mom said almost immediately, “I want you to help me move some furniture.”

The kids and I (minus Jacob…it’s a bummer when your kids grow up and get jobs) are heading off to Grandma and Grandpa’s this weekend.
It’s a 5 hour drive. But traveling with kids is counted like dog years.
We went to the RODEO. That’s what Texas people do to celebrate. We gather together to watch cowboys nearly kill themselves on broncing bulls.
My Aussie friend, Deanne, gave me a Stylish Blogger Award. I have never thought of myself as a stylish blogger, but I’ll play along because I always think it’s fun to learn new things about you all.
The past few days have been rough. The kind of days that make me think about taking up drinking.
Last night I had a good night of sleep and woke up and thinking, “Ahhh, today will be better.”
“Can I deduct my medical insurance deductible on my tax return?”
The answer to this question, like many tax questions, is “maybe.”
The weather has finally settled down. I was beginning to wonder how much longer this little old farmhouse could take it. We already have two broken pipes and one less lamp.
Without much insulation in the walls, this place gets pretty cold.
There are lots of new things going on here at the farm.
Here in this part of Texas we get a little crazy when the temperature goes below freezing. Schools cancel classes, stores close, we put an extra lamp in the chicken coop.
