Soft, Shiny Hair Makes Me Happy

Last summer when I decided to start coloring my hair I didn’t realize that I would be adding so many new things to my life.  Now I have to get it colored every couple of months, my hair is drier, I’m still trying to find the best color for my changing skin tones….it’s a world of mess.

The dryness is the worst of it.  Between the color treatment, swimming so much, the Texas heat….my hair is all kinds of frizzy.  I’ve tried products from cheap to expensive, but haven’t found anything I like.  Conditioner can leave my hair too slimy and heavy.  I have tried different treatments and shampoos, but nothing gives me a natural, easy look and feel.

So last week when I was getting my hair cut/colored I complained about this to my stylist.  She said I should try using a smaller amount of conditioner and put it just on the ends of my hair instead of all over.  DUH!  Now why don’t I think of these things?!

My new plan was perfectly timed because Dove sent me this bottle of their Daily Moisture conditioner….score!  It’s supposed to protect my hair from moisture loss and this is exactly what I need!

So I tried it using my stylist’s suggestion and I love it!  It smells so good and my hair is nice and soft, not the least bit heavy.  I feel like one of those women that shakes her head around in a TV commercial.

Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.

My 9 year old, Elijah, has a tendency to just stare at things without realizing it.  So anytime I catch him staring at me I say to him, “Elijah, why are you staring at me?  Is it because I’m so beautiful that you can’t take your eyes off of me for one second?”  Now I will add shaking my head all around like I’m in a Dove commercial.  He’ll love that.

I’m starting to see where my kids get their dramatic tendencies from.

And best of all Dove is giving you a change to win a $1,000 Spafinder gift certificate!  Here’s my question, what’s your favorite way to keep your hair soft and shiny?

  1. I’ve been using the Dove Daily Moisture for more than a year now. I buy the big bottles at Costco. I now have far more good hair days than bad… In fact, they’re all pretty good hair days.

I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about applying conditioner to the ends only… my bad as a friend.

Now I’m off to make my spa contest entries. I could use a spa day.

    1. Sara, you really should be better at telling me these things! I mean, you have seen my hair lately. And I agree….your hair has been looking fabulous! Lisa~
