What do you get when you cross a whirlwind trip to Ft Worth with a woman who has been detoxing from Disney and sugar? I think you can imagine. It’s not pretty.

Last week was a BIG week for me! James and I, for the first time since having kids over 25 years ago, went away for the week. Just the 2 of us. It was a second honeymoon and where did we go?
And the next 2 weeks aren’t looking promising for getting any closet cleaning done. Please tell me I am not the only person who looks at their calendar and sees a light schedule, then a week later it’s full beyond what seems humanly possible to accomplish.
We sure have been enjoying the lovely spring weather! It’s been practically perfect in every way. I am not normally so cheerful, but the Texas wildflowers have that affect on me.
Well friends, I did it. I survived for 50 years. I know, it comes as a shock to me too. Here’s a list of 40 things I love about turning 50!
I go to a lot of conferences. I know, the traveling isn’t for everyone. But I love to learn and grow and build my ministry. I love to meet new people and it always inspires me in some way.
Last November our family took a dream trip to Disneyworld. It was just as magical as they say…except for the part where James and I had to keep up with 9 young people with varied levels of energy and interest.
I got up Friday morning long before dawn because my final book edits were due and I needed some quiet time. If I wait until after my morning walk then the house is buzzing and I can’t focus as well.
I did a short workout this morning with the hope that it would help keep my legs from going stiff. They are “stove up” as my grandfather used to say. My calves are used to move movement and they have protested this limited use.
On Thursday morning my three daughters and I left the house to drive 3 hours to start setting up. Since James was gone for the day on business, that left the 5 boys alone.
