Lessons from Lisa: Don’t Take Your Shirt Off in the Middle of the Street

We went to the Forge Conference where we knew not a soul. It was exciting to meet a whole new group of people that desire to live their lives for Christ.
The past couple of weeks of homeschool have been a lot to manage. For some reason it looks like this will be my toughest year yet
It didn’t start off being the easy weekend I had hoped. James was out of town last week so by Friday I was about ready to run to the hills and hide.
Our weekend was a smattering of activity. I did everything from going to an open house at my friend Sara’s to sleeping for 2.5 hours in the middle of the day.
Sometimes I have so much to say to you that my brain is about to burst with excitement.
This is not one of those times.
I want to warn you, this is long and some of it is specific. I tried to be discreet, but please read it before you let your children read.
For two whole days I walked up to people to talk to them, I introduced myself, made eye contact, asked about people’s interests and lives, Tweeted invitations to meet, etc.
It’s interesting to find myself on the older side now. I don’t feel older. Unless I’m trying to get out of the car after riding for a couple of hours. Then I feel really old.
It was a wonderful weekend. We were all together, the weather was crisp and cool, everyone was healthy….as close to perfection as I can think of.
