Happier ‘n a Tick on a Fat Dog
I got home yesterday afternoon from my three weeks of constantly being on the road. It’s all behind me now and the sun is shining and the pool is beckoning and last night my pillow was so glad to see my weary head.

Trying to think of a way to make Father’s Day great for Dad is not easy. But this year we came up with a few goodies that I know he’s gonna love. I can’t tell you the big stuff because he may peek and see it here.
I hated walking out of my niece’s graduation ceremony during the commencement address, but I have to prefer protecting my children’s hearts over someone’s feelings
It was a peaceful weekend, quiet and low key. We milled about doing this and that. No trips, no rushing around. Delightful!
I have such a hard time getting my younger kids to brush their teeth long enough to get them clean. Unless I’m standing right there with them saying, “Nope, brush more,” they stop after about 15 seconds.
I have much to do to get my little love gifts ready. I’m writing notes to the kids and giving them teeny things. For James’ I’m making his favorite dinner, homemade egg rolls. Nothing says love to James like a homemade egg roll.
I’ve always liked Mondays. The weekends are nice, but with a houseful of kids it’s easier to be on a routine. Weekends are all “Mom, may I make a rocketship?” and “Mommy, do we have any AA batteries?!”
Last week I shared on Facebook about my boys having trouble doing their chores. Two of my guys just weren’t doing them they way I had told them to, so after a couple of weeks of not getting on top of it I decided to take steps to make some changes.
With 3 boys in the 6-13 age range, I have to find toys that they can share but still fit their unique personalities. They love all things heros, building, power, wheels, anything monster-like. True boys. No doubt about it.
Day four of my free stocking stuffer series….the day I have been dreading all week. Older boys. Young men. The hardest group to buy for second only to very old men who need nothing, want nothing, hear nothing.
