I just adore doing secret, sweet things with my kids. With so many children at home, I look for ways to make them each feel special.
I remember being a kid and wishing I could be heard. It’s hard to be full of ideas and think you might have wisdom in an area but no one takes you seriously.
Sometimes things can just get way too serious. Dinner’s on the stove, the phone is ringing, the dogs are barking….Calgon take me away!
Some days are just hard. Really hard. Everyone seems out of sorts and no amount of correcting and lecturing is going to change it.
One thing that goes to the heart of connecting is trust. Your child needs to know she can trust you and that you trust her.
Even though most of these ideas in this series will work for all children, sometimes a child is particularly difficult to connect with.
On No Electronics Day there is no Wii, no movies, no handheld video games, no ipods, no electronic entertainment of any kind. It’s like the olden days, but with A/C and a refrigerator.
When you’re trying to make a meaningful connection with your child, memorizing Scripture is a great sharing activity. Choose some easy ones, 1 Corinthians 16: 13-14 or Ephesians 4:32. Let your child choose one that she would like to memorize together. Then work your way up to longer verses. Make it a fun thing you…
