It’s amazing how quickly things can change. One day you’re happily humming a little song and skipping to the beat and the next day you are nursing a fever and blowing your nose so much that you wonder how there can be any snot left in your head.
The weather here has been overcast and cool for the past few days. My mood has been pretty much the same….cool and maybe, (don’t tell James I said this) a little bit fussy. I think it’s my diet. It was a rough weekend for the diet monster.

So far January has been rough. I am on the second week of my diet and I’m starting to dream of chocolate. I need something chewy….anything but lettuce and ground turkey.
If you’ve been here for more than a year you know that I become a tax widow on January 1 and proceed to occupy myself by doing projects. I have plans people, big plans.

Many of the blogs I read have been looking back at 2011. I do love seeing what they loved about this past year, but I’m not much for looking back. I have never really thought of the changing of the year as any big deal except for how hard it is to remember when I write the date.
I’m still basking in the glow of a wonderful Christmas with my family. This morning is one of those times, like when you go to camp and come home to the stark reality that life isn’t all about sitting around the fire singing Kumbayah.
