Packing and Partying

I’m catching up with you today from my parent’s house in Houston.  While the rest of you visited friends, ate hot dogs and watched fireworks, I packed moving boxes and tried to cram a 3500 square foot house full of furniture into and 16′ x 8′ pod in 273° heat.

My parents are moving to a town a few hours from here (and closer to me…hooray!) so we are trying to help.  I’m a bit of a drill sergeant about it I’m afraid to say.  My dad will pick up a box of old photos and start looking through them and I will bark something like, “No, no….we’re full speed ahead mister…..keep it moving…keep it moving.”

I’m sure they will be a teeny bit glad when I leave in the morning.  They may want to actually sit down occasionally.

I have to get back home for a very important event at my house tomorrow night.  I am hosting a Pampered Chef party.  A friend of mine sells it and she asked me if I would have a party.  I think she asked because I call her about every three weeks to see if there’s anything new that I can’t live without.  It is hands down my favorite kitchen supplier.  Plus she knows I can’t pass up an opportunity to have girlfriends over for food and fun.

My favorites are the mini-serving spatula, the pizza stone (which now has handles…genius!) and the garlic press.  But it took me 10 minutes to decide on those three because I have a bunch of other PS products that I l-o-v-e!  If you want to order anything, you are welcome to jump in on my party (I wish you could all COME!) and order online.  Just go here and click on “shop online” in the upper right-hand corner, then put in my name and start ordering.  It will go right to your house.  Cool!

After the party is over, first thing Wednesday morning, I plan to sit in my recliner for the duration of the week and stare at the walls.  I will also spend hours hugging on the kids that stayed home from Houston because I miss them something awful.  Then I will take 4 naps a day until my muscles recover from overuse.

But I can’t start thinking about it too much because I still have another whole day of packing to do.  If I start to dwell much on naps I may slow down and then my dad will be able to get back at me for all of the whip-cracking I have been doing these past 4 days.

I hope you all have a terrific week!  Put your feet up for me.

  2. If you haven’t tried it yet – bake some cookies on that pizza stone. It makes for easy clean up, an the cookies are soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside, which is perfect!

  3. One of my surprise wedding shower long long ago – well not that long (13th this year). My sister had asked me over for a pampered chefs paper – I was a little sad it wasn’t, I really wanted to buy something – But I got great stuff from great friends.
