Extreme Randomness Warning
I only have time today for a quick hello since I’m getting a late start and we have a birthday here today.
We spent the weekend back and forth from the film festival and running errands. I don’t do well with 3 days in a row of running to the big city. I’ve never had the strength for that level of activity. I like a slow, quiet pace. I may have been a sloth in a past life.
Thank you all for your comments and emails about the imaginary possum I was facing last week. You told me stories of real possums getting into your house. I am amazed by you. If that actually happened to me I think we might have to move. I’m not actually sure why I even live in the country. Clearly I wasn’t meant for it. It creeps me out every time we have to clip the chicken’s wings so much that I now have an episode of chickens-gone-wild happening in my yard.
I am super excited that it’s Valentine’s Day week! I have some little special love notes planned for the kids and I am still doing some last minute decorating. I posted a few Valentine’s Day mason jar ideas today over at Life Your Way. You’ll love these!
The rest of this week will be dedicated to school, Valentine’s Day and getting the house clean since we didn’t do our usual weekend cleaning. I can’t just skip it like I used to and do it the next Saturday. The amount of grime around the boys’ toilet would be so bad if left undone that we’d need to rent a jackhammer and gas mask to get it even remotely clean.
So what are you doing for Valentine’s Day? Do you have any traditions?
I will be spending the evening in the quiet while Daddy takes all three girls’ on a Daddy Daughter date where he is doing the Courageous movie thing but with sparkly necklaces instead of rings. I am gonna give them all little love cards, candy, and I got Mike a singing dancing lion thingy.
We used to go out on V-day, but got tired of the crowds, so we do a dinner at home with the kids. Some years we even dress up.
I’m not exactly sure what I’m cooking this year, but there will be a chocolate dessert…which is really all that matters, right?
My birthday is just a few days after Valentine’s Day, so I’m hoping to recruit my hubby to cook us something delish and beef-like out on the grill. And maybe, just maybe, he’ll watch a chick flick with me.
cute flower idea!
