A Suitcase Full

Happy Columbus Day!  I didn’t even know it was a holiday until I heard someone mention that they mail wasn’t going to come today.  I wondered why that would happen so I Googled it.  Count on me to bring you the very latest news from 1492.

My weekend was spent working on products to take the the market at the Influence Conference this week.  The girls and I a sewed and painted and packaged our little hearts out.  I’m going to confess to you that I was a pretty grumpy task master this weekend.  I don’t know why I was so grumpy.  Maybe it was the pressure of getting it all finished, but I got in a mood on Saturday morning.  When I realized that I was fussing at every person I walked past I decided it was time for a Mommy minute.

I went to my room and closed the door.  I wanted to straighten my bedroom that has become a catch all lately, but I made myself sit down and pray for a better attitude.  I listened to a couple of praise songs and I left my load at the altar.

The amazing part is that when I walked back outside to go to the shop (which used to be the guest house) a cold front had come through.  Literally in 15 minutes the temperature dropped 15 degrees.  I took it as a sweet blessing from God that He could hear my heart and I knew needed a cool day.

Our goal was to finish everything by the end of the weekend so all I have to do for the next 2 days is play with the kids and let little birds land on my finger as I dance around the house.  We got almost all of the products and displays ready, but it’s all piled high on a giant suitcase waiting for James (aka packer extraordinaire) to get it all to fit.  If anyone can do it, he can.  I’ve seen him get 2 dressers, a bookshelf, stroller, baby bed, a mattress plus all 11 of us into our van. This man can PACK!

I’ll be leaving on Wednesday morning and heading to Indiana for Influence.  Then I go straight from there to Houston to speak to a homeschool group there.  If you’re in the Houston/Kingwood area you are welcome to come by HEART at the Kingwood Bible Church on Monday night at 7:00.

It’s going to be a busy week, but I am excited to be spending time with all of my influence friends and the wonderful group of parents at HEART.  If I get a little grumpy, just start singing a praise song and I’ll snap right out of it.  Also chocolate helps.  In case it’s really bad.

Have a wonderful week!

    1. Sara, I know it is hard to imagine me being grumpy. I know you’ve never seen it yourself. I do like the chocolate patch idea….I’m going to look into that! Lisa~
