A Lazy Mornin’

I’m having a lazy Sunday mornin’ here at the Point.  We’ve had a bit of company this weekend and more today so I can’t really get any projects started.  It’s just nice to sit and relax for a few minutes though….and remind myself that life doesn’t always have to go at full speed.

I’ve been reading back through your comments this morning (which, by the way, mean the WORLD to me!) and I have a few comments to make back.

First, I got very little sympathy for my problem of having over-trained children.  You’ll wish you were more understanding when I end up in a mental institution wandering the halls asking for my fork.  Several of you asked how we managed to get our kids to clean up everything so efficiently.  First, all of my kids are born extremely compulsive (I have no idea where they get it from).  Even as babies, with no prompting from me, they line up their toys in little rows.  They organize their food on their plates and they get upset at dirt.  So when you add that to my training to put things away you end up with a bunch of compulsive cleaners.

Again, I got no sympathy when I complained about the heat.  Really people, have you no mercy?  Y’all need to take a long look at yourselves.  I guess I could also think of it as I need to stop complaining, but I choose to see the speck in your eye.

Several of you asked what we decided to call our new section of the blog.  I couldn’t believe how many clever, creative ideas you gave me.  I had over 100 to choose from.  I wrote them all on the white board and we all voted, then I did what I wanted, disregarding the votes.  Since the name had to be very short in order to fit in my menu bar, I kind of put a bunch of your suggestions together, shrunk it and went with “Faith Points.”  I’m excited to have a spot for my faith writings.  Thanks for all of your help!

My first post in the new section will be a follow up to my “Mothers and Sons” post called, “Mothers and Daughters.”  Girls are a bird of a whole different color.

And now I must get back to the important task of sitting and staring at the walls.   Have a great Sunday!

  1. We decided to spend OUR lazy Sunday morning at the park…..riding the trails on our bikes 🙂 Actually, the girls (and Jem, who is still forbidden to do any exercise, poor guy) played at the playground while the big guys rode the trails. Soooo fun. Happy Sunday, sweet friend!

  2. The kids and I are sitting in the van in our church clothes with a cool breeze (finally) blowing through, watching my husband learn to play polo, oh my. I’m very much looking forward to the training daughters post!

  3. Sunday was Father’s Day here in Oz so we went on a lovely bush picnic after church by a creek and the kids and dad had fun playing in the water- a little to cold for me yet!

  4. Hubby & I made cinnamon roll pancakes for a late breakfast and they were the bomb diggity!

I totally have sympathy for you and your hotter-than-blazes plight. That is precisely why I do not live in Texas. I hate the heat. It was already the hottest summer here in Colorado for the past 20+ years. I think I was just too hot to leave you any witty remarks. I just trusted that you received my ESP sympathy for you while I was roasting in 90+ temps, which I really cannot stand. Three digits? No human should be expected to deal with such things.

  5. Dear Erma,
Love the new “Faith Points” title. Fabulous choice!
    Stay cool.
    Keep your skirt up.
And stop complaining about the children.
    Sincerely,
    Your publisher
