Will My Stomach Ever Recover?

Has the weekend passed by already?  We were so busy I barely noticed.  Plus, my stomach has been doing weird things ever since I ate a gluttonous amount of beef and chicken at the Brazillian steakhouse on Friday night.  My friend Heather, that lives in Brazil, told me that I should plan to sit there for a long time and pace myself. Thanks, Heather, I wish I had done that.

It was a very nice restaurant, more upscale than the places we usually eat.  They don’t often hold my chair and lay the napkin in my lap when I eat at Chick-fil-A.  The best part was that James enjoyed it enough for the both of us, mostly because bacon was wrapped around everything. Nothing makes James happier than bacon.

My stomach troubles may not have been purely meat induced.  I could have also been affected by the heat.  I worked outside until after 3:00 both Saturday and Sunday.  Dude, it is HOT.  Thank God for sun screen.  And ice.  And swimming pools.

Saturday night we went to dinner with friends.  I still had prime rib in my stomach from the night before, but we were in a Mexican restaurant and I can’t resist guacamole.  I managed to stuff down a taco and some guac while we chatted.  Getting with friends is so refreshing that it makes a girl forget she has heat induced nausea and a pact with herself to never eat beef again.

Looking ahead, it’s only one week until I leave for my long weekend at Gina‘s Cottage….redoing rooms and meeting with other bloggers.  I am really looking forward to the getaway.  I met several of these ladies at Blissdom and fell instantly into friendships.  Y’all know how crazy I am about Cha Cha….I can’t wait see her and squeal like 12 year old girls at a slumber party.

It makes me want to meet the rest of you.  We need to have our own little conference…..just hanging out, eating chocolate and enjoying the fellowship that comes from a sharing sisterhood in Christ.

When shall we do it?  Anytime works for me….just please…..no meat.

  1. Hey I say we hop on a plane and go to Australia! I am so ready to do some squealing, just a few more days now and we will be together again, YAY. I hope you feel better soon, we can eat nothing but carbs when we are together-no meat.

  2. Well…since I don’t fly and want to be invited to hang with all of the cool girls…I say we meet half way between here and there, or we can call it good and meet in Tulsa! ;o)

  3. I want a bloggy get-together! We should do something for South Texas bloggers. 🙂 Or, you know, I’m down for the Australia thing too. If I win the lottery. (Oh darn, I don’t play the lottery. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!)

  4. That would be insanely wonderful but I am afraid the drive from Indiana to Texas would be a bit more than I am willing to bite off. ‘Cause you know I have been practically living in the car recently and seem to be a glutton for punishment as I’m off to Ohio for a wedding and hopefully a chance to stay/visit with dear friends. I invited myself to stay with them… but she told to I was welcome any time so that sounds like an invite to me, doesn’t it to you!

Have a great time when you head up to Gina’s!! And I am glad you had such a wonderful weekend, even if there was a bit of meat indulgence and heat fatigue (trust me I know where you are coming from on that one! ha ha)

    Toodles!

  5. Yee!
I am excited to meet you and ChaCha and errybody else!
I am basically a vegetarian (with an occasional piece of fish or chicken), so, no pressure for steak with me…too many times sick from meat…ugh. I know how you feel.
But yeah, I do do chocolate.
I will be bringing some big chunks of it from Trader Joe’s with me…
My friend Kristi and I started a Southern Blogging Belles meetup.
I’ll tell ya about it as we work!
    HUGS!

  6. May I admit that I’m slightly jealous? Okay, not of the whole meat and head-induced nausea thing, but of the blogging get together? I’ve made so many wonderful friends from the blogging world and get a little sad (but excited, too) when I realize that the first time I’m going to meet about 99% of them will be in heaven. I would take Texas or Australia in a heart beat!

Amazing, isn’t it how being with friends (and tacos) makes you forget upset bellies? Hope your tummy is better soon!

  7. I’m in. Just tell me the day! (and no meat, just lots of sweets and carbs… Maybe a really good spinach-strawberry salad one day for lunch-that will count for our veggie and fruit food group.)

  8. I just found your blog and I’m laughing so loud I’m going to wake the whole house kind of laugh! I had to stop to write you, so that at least the cherubs would stay asleep long enough for me to read some more! Blessings to you dear sister. We definitely could do some laughing together! My panties fell off in a parking lot one time, so I so get your predicament! (By the way, I just stepped out of them and kept on going!) Love your blog! I’m looking forward to reading more!

  9. I don’t know – they’re pretty darned polite at Chick-Fil-A. But the image of them holding out a chair and putting a napkin in your (or my) lap gave me the giggles. I shall think of that the next time I’m there. Heck, they could even do it in the drive-thru since when it’s really busy, they have a couple of employees out there moving the orders along. Except they probably shouldn’t pull out your chair, er, seat. They could reach in your window and place a napkin on your lap, though. Wouldn’t that be awkward?
