Many of the blogs I read have been looking back at 2011. I do love seeing what they loved about this past year, but I’m not much for looking back. I have never really thought of the changing of the year as any big deal except for how hard it is to remember when I write the date.
I’m still basking in the glow of a wonderful Christmas with my family. This morning is one of those times, like when you go to camp and come home to the stark reality that life isn’t all about sitting around the fire singing Kumbayah.

I have surely enjoyed all of the beautiful Christmas ideas on Pinterest. I’ve got to show you a few more before the day is past and we are off to new celebrations.
Lately I’ve had this thought tumbling around in my mind. It’s about our children and their accomplishments and the pressure to have a long list to tell everyone about at Christmas parties and family get-togethers.
Things have slowed down a bit here at the Point and I can finally see past the piles of wrapping paper in my bedroom. Besides doing all of my gift wrapping in there, I have this idea that I must keep every shipping box until all of the gifts have been opened and approved of.
It can’t be. Today my oldest son is 20. TWENTY.
There must be a mistake. I only have to close my eyes and I can see him lying next to me in my bed. So tiny, so new.

I have just finished shipping the last of my Christmas orders and I am celebrating.
Patience and I did the dance of joy after I slapped on the last shipping label.
