I May Not Be the Best Example

I’m supposed to be working on my first child training seminar that is coming up in, what is it?  Eighteen days?!  Oh dear.

I’ve locked the kids out of my room and told them that I seriously need to work.  I’ve been alone in my room for several hours now and I have accomplished three things:

1.  a heavy duty nap

2.  several levels in the new Nancy Drew computer game

3.  watched the last half of an Andy Griffith show which made me cry

Andy is so great.  He understood child training better than anyone and I am thinking of just showing old episodes of it to the ladies that come to my seminar.  Do you think they’ll mind?  I could bring some brownies to share.

I think it’s the rain.  It’s messing with my head.  We haven’t had a drop of rain all summer and today we’ve got three months of it coming down at once.  Really, people on the streets are freaking out.  I’ve even heard of school cancellations.  Or maybe that’s just me.  I’ll use pretty much any excuse to say, “Hey kids!  School’s canceled.  Everyone read one chapter of the Book of Acts and draw me a picture of what you learned. It’s raining and Mommy really needs to work on her seminar.”

I also finished up a few etsy orders.  Since I am marketing, PR, production and shipping…..it takes me a while.  I got a few orders labeled and shipped today.  Yeehaw!  So now I won’t feel so bad about getting basically nothing else done.  I did list some items over the weekend…..

I love that little purse.  Maybe if I carry it with me to the seminar I won’t feel like such a lump.  Is it true that looking cute is just as important as what you say?  No?  Bummer.

I guess I’d better get back to it then.  Nap number two, here I come!

  1. Oh I love the purse. And yes I think looking cute counts for a lot but I bet your ladies already know you will be looking cute. And I really wish that I could come to your seminar. My oldest is sixteen and I honestly think I know nothing of child training. If I did my children would obey me and love to work.
By the way I would to know what kind of sewing machine you use.Mimi just bought a serger and it is so neat.I really love to sew.

I know what you mean about the rain.I did not know what a rain storm was until I moved to Texas.
praying for blessings on all your projects,

  2. Looking cute is everything! And if you’re counting that is THREE times you made me laugh today. I laughed at the 3 things you’ve accomplished today. Such a slacker.

Where is this parenting seminar? I’m so proud of you! You’re such a good parenting role model to us green-sticks.

  3. You make a good point there Autumn. Maybe I should pass some of the grunt work along. They do all of the set up and clean up. Faith does a lot of the jewelry work too, but you’re right. I could let go a little more. Lisa~
