It Always Comes Back to 70’s TV

One more day to enter my Market Tote Giveaway!

Oh, these lazy days remind me of my childhood.

The past couple of years have been draining, so we planned to have some downtime this summer.  I’ve got one trip planned toward the end of July to the THSC Convention.  But until then, I am staying home.

We have been eating homemade popsicles, running in the sprinkler, playing games, listening to the piano and enjoying time together.  It’s just like Mayberry.

I’m an air-conditioning girl myself.  Many of you are Facebooking and blogging about camping.  I won’t be blogging about camping.  I don’t camp.  I don’t even think about it.  Ever.  If I had to camp then we would be less like Mayberry and more like Gilligan’s Island.  You can be sure I’d be pedaling a stationary bicycle with coconuts carved into fan blades and I’d be riding that sucker as fast as possible….I need a breeze people!

So it’s me and the A/C.  I do go outside in the evening during that precious 20 minutes when it is starting to cool off but the mosquitoes aren’t out yet.  We feed the goats and chickens and watch Elijah run around the yard in circles.  It’s good times.  Not the show Good Times, that wouldn’t involve goats and chickens.

I guess if we have to be a show, we’d be a Brady Bunch/Odd Couple/The Waltons combination.

Large, loving family….a lot of different personalities….just enjoying the simple life.

Ahhh…..summer.

  1. haha this is hilarious! I’m not the biggest outdoor person as I don’t like being hot! And I don’t like actual camping on the ground in a tent camping but I loved going to camp in a cabin, that was fun! Thanks for visiting my blog and I’ll definitely let you know any craft supplies I find! 🙂 I always try to find them on the cheap!!

  2. Camping in the beauty of our native Idaho is one thing. Camping in the heat of Texas without a single hill in sight…that’s something else all together. I go occasionally for hubby and the kids sake, but it certainly is not high on my list of things I enjoy. Glad you are enjoying a relaxing, camping free summer!
