Little Brothers
I have four younger brothers, and I love them all! I hear a lot of girls talking about how their little brothers are annoying and there’s nothing they can do about it. But I don’t understand that at all, sure my brothers can be a little loud or silly sometimes but they’re so much fun!
It’s true, some girl’s little brothers aren’t as well behaved as mine. Why, some run screaming through Wall-Mart because they didn’t get the exact toy they wanted. But don’t think that all mine do is sit around being models of society and making me daisy chains.
Sometimes they whine, sometimes they wreck my room, sometimes they ask me over and over and over again to play with them when I am trying to do my school. But they are sweet little boys. They are learning! When they interrupt my school, if I stop and try to understand what they are wanting, I realize that my little brothers want the help and security they feel when I assist them with their math.
If you have younger siblings try thinking,
When they wreck your room they only wanted to play there because they think you’re cool. They interrupt you when you’re doing your school or work because they want to play with you more than anybody else in the world.
Can we not do little things to return their sweet love for us?
*Help them find fun things to do when they’re wandering around lonely.
*Give them your heartfelt praise when they show you a drawing they drew just for you. *Take time off from your own schedule to join them in the games they beg you to play with them — even if it isn’t really your thing.
*Tell them stories and watch their faces light up at the happy parts, and grow anxious at the adventures.
*Take your two year old brother out on the trampoline and feel his soft chubby hands thrown round your neck as he plants a sloppy kiss on your cheek.
*Pray for them.
Pray that God will lead them and grow them up into Godly young men who will do earnest work for Him someday.
I love my little brothers, and sure hope you love yours!
They wont be little forever.
What a wonderful post! I really enjoyed reading your positive view on having lots of little siblings. I’m going to let my 6 year old read this one because I know he gets frustrated sometimes with the little ones in the house, I think this will help him have a more positive outlook!
