The Royal Bed

Oh my goodness gracious wonderful heavenly day, I am in LOVE!

I am not talking about my husband here. I mean, he’s a great guy and I am crazy in love with him. He pampers me.

But I have fallen head over heels for the new pillows on my bed. They pamper me too. They make me feel like a monarch in the lap of luxury.

You all know I love a discount. I frequent a couple of designer fabric stores in the area. They know me. I head straight for the clearance bin. Most of the time there’s nothing good. But then there is that day of days when I find something so wonderful, so dreamy that it makes my heart go pitter pat.

Like the faux silk dupioni I am going to show you. It is the most luscious copper color and they had 6 yards of it for $35! This stuff sells for $25 a yard. I quickly nabbed it before someone realized their mistake!

And I brought it home and married it to the brown velvet I found on clearance the month before. These two are the perfect couple. Texture, luxury, richness. I’m drooling already. Where’s the royal chin wiper?!

I used the faux silk for the backs of the pillows, two king sized pillow shams and….

I had enough of the it to make a dust ruffle.

And these pillows….oh I can’t tell you how queenly they make me feel. They are such a great match with the cream colored canvas pillows I made last summer. I love the combination of textures.

These two are MFEO.

And see what happens when royal fabrics get married? They have the sweetest little baby pillows.

I think everyone needs some luxury in their life. I mean, if only to have a place to put your crown.
