I HEART Valentine’s Day (pt 1)

Have I told you before how much I LOVE Valentine’s Day?

My Dad loves it too. No, wait a minute, I think I’m confusing him with Mr. Hallmark. That’s right. Dad loves Mom, but he does not care for Valentine’s Day.

But I see it as an opportunity to tell the people I love that I am madly and passionately crazy about them and that my life is complete because they are in it. Oh, and also I get to decorate the house. With red and pink and little hearts. I mean come ON. How can I resist?

So this has been our quarterly, “Lisa Needs to Rearrange Everything and Put Out Fresh Decorations” weekend. My family just loves it. My 18 year old son lives to hear the words, “Hey, come here and help me move this piece of furniture!” My little boys can’t wait for me to tell them to stand right by me for the next hour with a broom and dustpan so they can sweep up the stuff from where the sofa used to be. And don’t get me started on the older girls and how they adore these great teaching moments…”See honey? If you move this half an inch to the left then it is in better proportion with the piano.”

Go ahead and say it. I’m a great mom.

I have been sewing and rearranging and swooning over the ribbons and decorations we have been using. Oh, I have some wonderful things to show you!

You must be wondering where are the pictures. It’s pretty cruel for me to tell you and not show you, right? But I am still in the process.

You can’t rush a masterpiece.

Pictures will come shortly.

Maybe tomorrow….if I can just find someone to help me move the table. If I didn’t know better, I’d say they were hiding.
