Here we are. The week of Thanksgiving and I haven’t given a single thought to what we will be eating on Thursday. Not to mention shopping for food. Oi, the crowds!
It was a dream come true kind of trip. We had been planning it for about 6 months and even though we didn’t know it then, the timing was amazing. We all needed a break from the difficulties going on at home.
It is my desperate desire to present myself as real and not some perfect sample of a trouble-free life. It is FAR from trouble free around here and I have my share of down days and insecurities.
It started to hit me last week as I drove to the city for the third time in three days. Normally I go every couple of weeks, so my car and I were not used to the extra activity.
A few years ago I shared my friend Martha’s great recipe for pretzel dogs. These have become a family favorite and we make them every year on July 4th.
In the 6 years since I started blogging this is the first time I have gone a whole week without posting. Not even when I had dental surgery the day after my grandmother passed away. That should tell you how crazy it’s been here.
It’s weeks like this when I wonder why I never took up drinking coffee. I hear such great things about it.
Because travel is my new middle name, I will share with you my latest tips on flying and packing and generally making trips better.
