I’m Not a Stalker, I just Play One at the Summit
This past weekend while the world was arguing on social media about women’s marches and mean Tweets, I was tucked away with hundreds of women celebrating freedom in Christ. I’ll take genuine love and transparency over bitterness and arguing any time.
The Summit was amazing and uplifting. Moms were learned so much about God’s love for them and went home armed for the battle of motherhood and marriage and life. I loved being pulled aside over and over and over by ladies who had been freed from negative self-talk or a painful past or guilt over past actions. And while we were getting set free, we laughed. And laughed. And laughed some more.
Women + Laughter + Praise = Amazing Blessings!
That pic is the team who puts together this amazing event. These women don’t get paid and spend their own time and money to bless the attendees. They pray over each name, they listen to every request, complaint, suggestion and care about those voices. They spend a year putting this together. It’s honestly the most incredible group I have ever been a part of. And there are other women not in the photo that I pretty much grab as soon as I see them every year and follow around like a puppy hoping they’ll drop some nuggets of wisdom I can pick up.
I’m not kidding.
I am shameless. Two of the older, wiser, more experienced moms probably get tired of me sitting down next to them as close as I can just to listen to them talking. They don’t even have to be talking to me. I just want to absorb.
I also love stopping and chatting with the ladies who attend. We find spots to step out of the crowd and share our hearts and pray for each other. Everywhere you look there are women ministering love to each other. I can’t say it enough….it’s amazing. God does the leading and we simply obey.
There is SO MUCH FREEDOM that comes with this kind of love.
And I get to do it all again in 2 weeks! The Texas Summit in San Marcos will be Feb. 3-4 and I want to see you there! Come with your scrapes and bruises and we will pray for you and give you a break for a couple of days. You’ll hear from other tattered souls who have found joy in their trials.
And while I am emphasizing the depth, it’s really a ton of fun. I laughed so hard one night I almost cried tears down my legs. Depends are my friends.
If you decide to go to the Texas Summit, be sure to use my code: “PENNING10” for $10 off the cost of registration.
And….just because I am so excited about it, I want to share with you that my new book, “Tightropes & Teeter-Totters” is available for purchase at the Summit (of course, you can order it on Amazon). What a gift to be able to share with the ladies what God has taught me over the past few years about finding balance in my life.
(I have no idea why I am sticking that book in my nose in the above picture)
Come on and join us!!! And find me for a hug and a prayer. <3
