Embracing Modesty, No 39

These cooler mornings are challenging me to find things to wear that are keep me cozy enough for the morning yet are still comfortable in the warm afternoon.  So I’m embracing the vest.  It say, “My body is warm but I’m OK with my arms being cold.”  Or sometimes a light, short sleeved jacket can serve a double purpose.  It gives the right amount of temperature control while also hiding the mommy tummy.  Of which I have in abundance.

This first day I was going out to Sam’s, Target, etc.  I wore a scarf that I tied like a man’s tie.  I’m not really a scarf girl, but I needed something to conceal my stomach because this little vest wasn’t going to do that.

This next day was warmer so I went with one layer.  This shirt is one piece that looks like layers.  I wore 2 pins with it to add the ever-necessary sparkle.

This last picture is from my night out with my friends.  We went to the city to celebrate one of their birthdays and do some window shopping.  I like the striped tank, but it’s too low cut so I put a black tank under it.

Sadly, I won’t be able to tell you where I bought any of my clothes for a while.  All of them are more than 10 years old since I haven’t been able to wear them in so long.  The good news is that in a few months I will hopefully have to get all new clothes so maybe I can share some of those with you then!

Thanks for following me along in this series!  Be sure to check out the entire series in our Embracing Modesty Gallery!

  1. I am impressed with your transformation! And I love that you are re-fashioning old favorites. I am a thrift store shopper. I love to re-fashion others cast-offs

  2. Your hard work is so showing up! Each week, you look slimmer & slimmer! I love the last outfit – the tan & black. Super cute.

  3. You look great!! Keep it up!! Remember, all your weight didn’t gather on you over night, and it will not just fall off over night either, so keep it up!! The benefits are paying off already!! You are beautiful !! 😉

You are an inspiration to me to keep up my weight loss journey also. I call it my “gorilla diet”…nuts, dark leafy greens, raw veggies and raw fruit, and lots and lots of water 🙂 You Go Girl!!

  4. Each day me and my 11 yr old daughter look forward to checking out your blog. Especially your embracing modesty posts! My daughter has started to get into creating outfits so this series is a treat for her. Also because your series is saying that just because your young doesn’t mean you have to keep up with the latest fads or look like everybody else. Thanks so much for this series!!!!

  5. you look beautiful! I have to ask though – where do u find the higher neck tank tops? I look everywhere for them to no avail. SOmetimes my tank neckline is lower than my shirt – so I don’t where either one. thanks for any ideas – I’ve thot about tacking the sleeves up but it leaves a weird line under my top shirt.

  6. I haven’t tead blogs in a while but when I swung by yours and read through – wow!!! You are glowing and your health looks fabulous! (I also love your modesty posts.)
