Embracing Modesty, No 35
I just have a couple of pictures for you this week. I’m trying to wear my white skirt as much as possible before the official start of fall. I know it’s old school, but I don’t like to wear my summer clothes once I have put the pumpkins out on the porch. It just doesn’t seem right even thought it’s still 95° outside.
I wore it three times this week, but I forgot to take my picture one day so I only have 2 to show you.
This day I wore my gray sleeveless ruffled top over a gray t-shirt. It is very comfortable for running errands and getting lots of shopping done. I added a silver pin and a long simple necklace for accessories and my silver Birkenstocks.
This next day I was feeling like some sequins so I wore my fancy t-shirt. It’s getting too big for me, so I added a tie for a belt. Its the first time I’ve worn anything resembling a belt in many years. I loved my flowery wedges with this. They are old, old, old so they’re not as comfortable as my new wedges, but I wasn’t doing a ton of walking so it all worked out.
I may try to get a few more wears out of my white skirt before the 22nd. Then it will get packed away until late spring 2014. Of course, it just occurs to me that the skirt may not fit me then. Oh well….what’s a girl to do?
I only have about 6 skirts that I mix around with different tops and jewelry. A mix & match wardrobe keeps it fresh and fun. I love putting new outfits together each day and trying new things.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out our gallery of posts from our Embracing Modesty series!
Great outfits!
You are inspiring me to focus on accessorizing to help outfits look fresh and new.
Thanks for the posts! I too only wear skirts so it’s nice to get new ideas. And modest ones to boot!! 🙂
You are getting skkiiiinnnney!! Great job. And love both of the shirt, btw. We are headed to SC to the beach for vaca — I’ll be happily wearing my white skirt plenty there.
You always look wonderful! I am always amazed how you mix and match. Wish I had that skill!
You are looking very svelte! Congratulations on the weight loss. I went looking for long skirts the other day– no luck.
If you have a Cato anywhere nearby there are a LOT there right now.
Lisa! Just looking at your pictures I can see how much you’ve lost! Great job!!! You look mah va lous!
You look A.MAZ.ING, my friend! Not only can I see the weight you’ve lost, but you look radiant 😀 Keep up the great work!
I just put away a piece of fabric that I had planned to make a skirt with because it’s white and my days of wearing white are almost through for this summer – so I’ll save it for spring and make a skirt than … hopefully another size or two smaller! You are looking fantastic – all of your walking, supplements and mindful eating has made such a difference! I’m so proud of your progress! I know how hard it is!
I love both outfits, but that second one really emphasizes your weight loss! Great job!
Both outfits are cute, cute…..and you are looking fabulous! I think an added benefit of all that exercise is that you are sporting a very healthy glow. Beautiful, just beautiful!
Lisa you look great!! I’m going to be packing my white jeans away soon too. Kind of makes me sad. 🙁
Blessings,
Cyndi
LISA! You are looking AMAZING!!!!!! I’m so proud of you! 🙂
Lisa, you look great and I’m jealous! LOL Seriously though, I was doing well with a reduction in the amount I was eating and getting more exercise, then life through me a curve ball and I lost my focus, ugh!
I think my favorite pic in your post is the white skirt with the grey top. It looks so crisp and fresh. Thanks for posting!
