Embracing Modesty, No. 11
One of the great things about having so many girls in the house is the wealth of creativity we are surrounded by. Five girls and we all have individual style and shapes. What flatters one may not flatter another and none of us like the same accessories.
We went shopping together recently and I enjoyed seeing what they chose to wear on our day out and what they shopped for….each with her own taste.
Grace, the oldest, loves a classic look. She’s a scarf girl.
And her vintage typewriter bag fits her author personality. (be sure to read her latest book, Never)
Hope is beachy and cool. And by cool I mean like the Fonz….not the freezer at Costco (the Fonz…seriously how old am I?!)
She likes a simple piece of jewelry.
Faith is my funky girl. Her outfit is always a work of art. On this day she wore a top that she made out of an old polka dotted skirt.
With a pop of red….these are hairbows she clipped to the collar.
Patience has more of a sporty style. She’s a bouncy one, she is!
Headbands are her accessory of choice….plus a pair of earrings Faith made for her.
Such a lovely bunch to spend the day with!
And if you’re wondering what I was wearing on our outing….here’s Mom.
I love a monogram any way I can get it.
I used old clip earrings to hold the scarf, but that didn’t last. They kept falling off, so I just tied it up at some point and tossed the earrings in my purse.

Cute to see the different styles. Hope’s style resonates the most with me.
Jacqueline, I should have asked that….if any of the styles resonate with you. I like knowing that you’re cool the Fonz. 🙂 Lisa~
Lovely to see you and the girls dressed so nicely for a shopping trip together! Your black and white striped skirt is very flattering – is it a knit? I usually avoid knits because they sometimes emphasize the lumps and rolls, but the asymmetrical stripes are fun and attractive.
I think my style (if I had any left LoL) would be more like Grace 🙂 I’ve been meaning to ask you, if you could give me some help finding some long skirts. With my disabilities it is hard to wear pants, and skirts would be so much easier with cool summer tops. If you have any ideas for me, give me a shout out and I’ll fill you in on the specifics….love ya my sister in Christ, and I am so blessed every time I read your blog and fb posts <3
I love seeing all your individual tastes. I guess I am a traditional kind of gal, but I like to mix it up once in a while.
I wear mostly skirts myself, so it’s fun to see what you all do to create outfits.
Have a lovely weekend, Friend!
I love seeing each of your styles. All different and all modest. I hope you had a wonderful day shopping.
Y’all are all looking so cute and stylish! Love your skirt Lisa!
Love all the looks! Precious!
