Embracing Modesty, No. 7
We are so thrilled to have been getting comments and emails from so many of you that let us know the outfits we’re wearing are encouraging your girls. That blesses us so much!
So this week I’m going to show you a few more of Faith’s outfits. She makes so many of her clothes out of things were are throwing out. I want to be clear, Faith doesn’t know how to sew. She just whips it together, glues it pins it or just tears it and leaves it unsewn. If you can’t sew….don’t let that stop you from making yourself some clothes or accessories!
She made the little ring with soda tabs, the earrings with paper clips and the necklace with an old key she found.
Here’s the same outfit another day:
She loves those fake glasses…..such a cutie!
The splash of red is a piece of a t-shirt she cut from one I was getting rid of. Her earrings are made from washers.
This next cuteness is a hodge podge of things she found around. The long necklace is a large heart she tied to a ribbon and the head scarf she made with one of her brother’s old shirts.
Here’s that key necklace again. The lace blouse she wears all kinds of ways. Over things, under things….very versatile.
I love how much she enjoys putting outfits together!
Next is another thing she hung from a piece of ribbon; I think it’s a circle she found somewhere. The scarf she ripped from a piece of cloth. I love the addition of aqua too!
In her hair she wired individual beads to hair pins. Then just stuck them all around in her hair.
We’re going to talk more about hair later in the series. Woohoo!

Very clever and creative!
It is a neat way to look at things that are going to be tossed!
Love, love, love the lace vest/shirt!
Absolutely lovely! Faith has such a creative spirit and you can tell she definitely has fun with her clothes. What a good and godly example you are to your girls!
One of the greatest things that I see in this series, is the fact that your girls are happy to recycle, or up cycle their style. Some young man will be blessed by that. No “high maintenance” women! You’re doing a great job Lisa! (Patting you on the back)
What a lovely, modest beauty. Polished like a palace pillar.
Good job, sweetie!
Kelley~
What creativity – good for her!
Lots of creativity showing up in every outfit! Great job Faith! I love all of your cute ‘found’ accessories and the creative way you mix and match you clothing! It great that you’ve found your own style at such a young age!
P.S. I’m still waiting with bated breath for the shoe post … but I did venture out and bought a pair of brown boots on clearance to wear with my denim skirts! Haven’t worn them yet because I’ve been home a lot with sick kids, getting ready for company, or my own health issues, but hopefully Sunday I’ll get to enjoy wearing something new for the first time in ages!
It’s good to see people talking about modesty. As a pastor’s wife, I can say, even in the church we are seeing girls not dressing modestly.
This is the PERFECT time of year to buy good layering pieces. Shore sleeve shirts that can be layered are great for creating a cute, modest look!
Enjoyed your post, ideas, and pics today. Your daughter is beautiful!
your family is precious… I love how adorable and modest you all are… i have not read, where do you find all these adorable (and modest) clothing pieces and accessories… do you make your own, shop thrift stores, etc???
Beautiful! What good taste your daughter has!
