I’d Say the Weekend was Great, but My Feet Would Disagree
I’m in a groggy stupor today…writing may not be the best idea. But I’ve never promised to be awake when I write, so it’s happening. If you don’t like it just raise your hand and I will let you be excused.
The SNAP conference this past weekend was a whirlwind of information, friends and tulips. No, I meant to say tulips…put your hand down.
Apparently Lehi, Utah is having their annual Tulip Festival and I could not get enough of these enormous, gorgeous flowers. The smell, the colors, the beauty was indescribable.
I learned a LOT and made new friends and got to see old friends. I got some Gina time, which would have been enough. But then my roommates were Lisa from Studio Jewel (Lisa and I already knew & loved each other) and Amanda from Everyday Elements. Seriously…I fell head over heels for Amanda and she is now under my spell. I waved some chocolate in front of her eyes and did a hypnosis thing that took me years to perfect. She is convinced that she likes me. I’m just that good.
The whole weekend was inspiring. I was already planning some new things here at The Point and now I am more excited to get my behind out of my recliner and just do it. Like Nike. Without ever actually running. Or wearing shoes.
Speaking of shoes….I didn’t take a really good walking pair, which was a mistake. I hate to throw anyone under the bus, but someone reserved the room and didn’t plan a way for us to get from our hotel to the conference. “It’s just an easy half mile walk to the conference.” Let me tell you…there was nothing easy about that walk. Lisa and I walked for half a mile along the HIGHWAY! In my pretty shoes. In the cold wind. Carrying my heavy bag. I was not a happy camper.
After that I kept looking for places to put my feet up.
Sore feet made it hard to tiptoe through the tulips. You know I consider myself a real trooper, never complaining, never blaming anyone else for my problems. But I do want to say that when I got to the airport and saw this…..I was really happy…..
Utah should really consider putting these along the side of their highways.
I want to give a special thanks to Brittany from Pretty Handy Girl, Ruthie from Cooking with Ruthie and Cynthia at Utah Garden Blogs. These three women drove us back and forth from our hotel and are now among my favorite people in the world. Visit their blogs, tell them my feet sent you.
There you go. You may be excused.
But your feet looked cute, and ultimately, that’s what matters.
I’ve got my cutie-pie sneaker like flats ready for NYC this weekend. I’m praying my tootsies hold up – I’d hate to have to resort to riding in a taxi.
I am completely and utterly under your spell now, but that’s okay, it’s a wonderful spell to be under. You were beyond delightful and I smile anytime someone asks about the weekend, because I think of Lisa L and you!
Glad you had a great time! And you know, you would be disappointed if you didn’t come home with a “story.” You and I must accept that, no matter where we go, we will always come home with a “story”–our lives are just wired that way, Lisa-girl! 🙂
you know…so much i could say….
but I’ll leave it with the image burned into my mind.
it’s a group of 3, lying side by side, small, not so small, and not small at all. nuff said. and it has nothing to do with “sitting”.
but I do love you with my whole heart. <3
I am so proud of you-your toenails look terrific! Pretty painted toes can make sore feet at least look pretty!
Love the sandals! Why is it that cuteness and comfort don’t always go hand in hand!
I LOVE your blog… and your post today was super cute 🙂 It was so nice to meet you all at Snap! What a great event so, so glad I went… AND I loved being y’all s chauffeur! Anytime of course!!! Ruthie
Hi, Lisa, so happy we got to see each other at this conference. It was more focused on all the creatives and I loved that. Enjoyed getting to chat just a bit with you. Thanks for your sweet words to me. xoxo
Still sounds like you had fun sore feet and all…LOVE your sandals and cute painted toes 🙂
Hello Lisa, I enjoyed you at SNAP & I’m popping by to say “Hello”. Sorry your hotel was so far & I’m glad you got some rides. I live near Lehi & would love to have helped you as well! {Wish I would have known.} Great blog, BTW.
Warmly, Michelle Lunt
