I’m a Cover Girl Look Alike

Oh boy, I have had so many friends tell me they saw my look-alike on the cover of November’s Good Housekeeping.  I knew immediately who it must be, Ina Garten, The Barefoot Contessa.  I am constantly compared to her.  Even strangers have stopped me to tell me I look just like her.

I finally saw the magazine yesterday and, yep, it was The Barefoot Contessa.  It was about this time last year that people kept telling me they think of me when they see her.  She must be more visible right before Thanksgiving, which makes sense since she is famous for her cooking.

This is the cover everyone keeps telling me about:

I decided I need my own magazine cover.  Of course, I can’t talk about cooking unless you want to know how to burn bread or forget a couple of ingredients.  So I made my magazine about the things I know:

What do you think, do we look alike?

Coming up with those article titles gave me so many ideas!  I need to make my own magazine.

If I ever do it, you will be the first to know!

In the meantime, don’t forget to check out Shop 24 for some great Christmas gift ideas!

  1. Oh my goodness if you all had the same eye color I think you could pass for identical twins!! She is a very classy lady and so are you.
    Blessings friend,
    Cyndi

  2. Cyndi, thanks!

Sara, you forgot younger…..she has 17 years on me. Although I have to say…she looks amazing!

    Lisa~

  3. Amy, thanks!

Angie, bangs are NOT a good look for me. I need the big forehead to distract from the neck fat. LOL!

  4. I saw this last week and thought that exactly! I was sure you must hear it all the time!

Remember – her cover is airbrushed and more!

I certainly like the topics on your magazine better than Good Housekeepings!

  5. WOW! Love this post, and both of you ladies! I do believe your topics for articles are right up my alley…get to printing Lisa! 😉

  6. Very fun! What a great job you did with your magazine!! Wow! So creative. There is a resemblance, but your eyes are prettier! 🙂 Of course, all your adoring blog fans are completely objective.

  7. What a cute post! You do look alike, both pretty ladies, but I prefer your longer hair without the bangs. Have you ever tried any of her recipes? They’re usually really good. Some of the other famous foodies’ recipes look great, but when I cook it, not so great.
    Her’s have never disappointed me.

  8. I LOVE IT!! Lisa, I’ve been reading a few months now and must say, you’re blog is exactly the pick me up I need in life!! No coffee, no tea, no Coke….just a new post from the penningtonpoint.com!!! I love the cover you made, it has me smiling ear to ear (and giggling too, which my children are probably wondering about!!). Have a blessed weekend!!!

  9. Lisa, The minute I saw this cover I thought about you! You two look just like sisters…of course you are the prettier, thinner and more talented one. Love your own magazine cover and I would buy it if you ever decide to publish.
    Hugs,
    Sherry

  10. I never realized this before, but it’s true! I wanted to comment to say I want to read almost all of the articles on YOUR cover! It’s too late for the child training one. But wait! I could pass the wisdom from that one onto the mothers of my future grandchildren! (ie my daughters) So make that “I want to read ALL of the articles from your magazine cover!”

    Fun post!

  11. That was fun! I now want to read all the articles in your magazine. It makes me feel better knowing you aren’t a great cook…I was beginning to think you were good at everything 🙂 And, yes, you do look alike.

  12. Just found this browsing through your Pinterest – too funny! I think you’d make a great magazine author – just by your front cover, I know I’d be reading it!
