It’s All a Blur

The weekend was a whirlwind of activity.  It started Friday with a big double date.  James and I met some friends in the big city and went to see “Courageous.”  It was one of the best movies I have seen in a long, long time.  I hope you all will head out and see this movie…..it’s a message the world needs to hear.

By the time we got home from our date our weekend guests had already arrived.  Everything after that is a blur.  It’s just mixed memories of kids running in and out, people talking and someone asking me if we were out of cheese.

With the weather finally cooling down, it has un-clouded my mind and I am back to my normal air-headedness.  Instead of being consumed with the heat, I am back to searching for receipts and the paint I used yesterday but no one seems to be able to find today.  Seriously, we spent an hour Saturday looking for a quart of paint that I just KNEW had been put with the other paint.  I wonder how many hours of my week are spent looking for things.

That pretty much sums up the weekend.  Guests in and out while I searched for paint.

By Sunday night I was exhausted.  James sensed the need to step in and give me a little TLC.  So he did what any good husband would do in that situation and went to the local Mexican restaurant and got me an order of queso with chips.  It did make me feel better.  I ate it while we watched “The Amazing Race” and felt refreshed.  “The Amazing Race” always does that for me.  Regular people navigating the world and spelunking makes me feel like I could do anything.  And the best part is I never have to leave my recliner.

The coming week is exciting for me because I finally picked up some pumpkins and we have fallish weather.  In the mornings I can open the screen doors and let the house air out.  Our house is in serious need of fresh air since the heat of this past summer.  All summer long we were too afraid to open doors for fear the 109° temps would sneak in and the rest of the family would die, not from the heat, but from my constant complaining.

Have a wonderful week.  And remember if you start feeling low, queso fixes everything.

  1. Courageous was truly awesome…everyone should know they should take a box of kleenex with them as well. And no, not just a few will do an entire box is necessary!!!! Mike and I have been talking about it and this awesome weather since Saturday 🙂 HAPPY FALL!

  2. I can’t wait to see Courageous, but I think I will have to wait until the DVD is released in Australia, so may be some time away yet!

  3. We can’t wait to go see the movie. I think we may be going this weekend. And as far as the weather, we’ve actually been able to open our doors the last two days too and it’s been soooo nice! It just brings a sense of freshness and newness to my mind. I love it! Not sure how long it’s going to last though.
    Have a great day girlfriend.

  5. My life has been a blur lately, especially this weekend. We finally mover into our house, at least our bodies did. Most everything is in the garage and a full storage building awaits me! School has not happened for two days, and I’m hoping to fix that tomorrow. Where does the time go? Have a great week!
