What Would I Do Without my Peeps?
We’ve been so busy working outside this past week that I haven’t blogged. I think about it, but then I go inside nearly dead from the heat and fall asleep.
We did get the steps finished. Remember how great they were before?
While that was hard to improve upon, here is what they look like now:
Yep, we’re gettin’ fancy around here.
We also got the clothesline put up. I am so happy to have the swimsuits & towels hanging there instead of all around the deck railing. But this week I used it for another purpose……
It’s a BIG project I am working on for next weekend. There has been sawing and mulching and all kinds of shopping in preparation for it. I would tell you more, but I am going for an air of mystery here. I’ve always wanted to know what that feels like….to be mysterious. Maybe hanging forks is not the way to go though. I probably need a scarf and a béret to pull it off.
My parents are visiting this weekend so Mom and I spent some quality mother-daughter time building a table for my BIG secret project. We shared our feelings while pulling old lumber from a pile, measuring and cutting, sweating. Efficiency at its finest…building a table and a relationship at the same time.
I’m sad to report, however, that while the relationship is stable, the table we built is not. We gave up and decided to come in from the heat. I began to wonder if I could do it. Mom would leave and I’d be left having to figure out how to serve my guests (another mystery clue) on this wobbly thing.
Then James came to me and asked me to come see a surprise. He and Jacob had fixed our wobbly table! I threw my arms around him and thanked him sufficiently. It’s nice to have 2 knights in shining armor and a mom who tolerates my dumb ideas. I’ve got peeps and they’ve got my back.
Here’s one more clue to my mystery….it’s a milestone.
Pssst…. :::shifting eyeballs::: I’ve got your metallic gumballs… where do you want them?
Is someone having a graduation party? Perhaps someone is engaged? A new driver???? Oh, I love your mystery! The stairs look MUCH improved…we city-folk wouldn’t allow those cinder block steps 😉

Erma,
I know! I know!
At least I think I know. So exciting for y’all!
I don’t know if I can hold my breath that long! 🙂 Sounds like it will be fabulous. Whatever it is.
Whatever it is, can’t wait to read about it!! Graduation? Engagement? Heading to college? Levi got potty trained?? Would you paint forks and build a table for that???
Definite air of mystery achieved, even if it is of the silly kind. Looking forward to the report!
Way to leave us hangin’, Lisa!
I’m with Deanna on this…I am voting for 21st birthday party??
Hugs,
🙂 Heather
I’m turning blue from holding my breath waiting for your secret to be revealed!
I soooo want to know!!!! Is it an anniversary? Or is someone becoming engaged? A special birthday? Well you sure did a good job of leaving us hanging!
I really like the way the forks came out!!
I’m on pins and needles!
