Stylish Bloggers
My Aussie friend, Deanne, gave me a Stylish Blogger Award. I have never thought of myself as a stylish blogger, but I’ll play along because I always think it’s fun to learn new things about you all. This award requires me to tell you seven things about myself, so here goes….
1. I don’t know how to type. I hunt and peck, and I am very, very fast at it.
2. I only started wearing make-up after I turned 40. Before that I was determined to embrace the beauty God gave me. But then strangers on the street started asking me if I was ill, so I turned to the dark side and started trying to cover up the age spots and wrinkles.
3. I wear Spanx almost every day. I love them. They keep me from jiggling in places that should never jiggle.
4. My favorite Girl Scout cookies are Tagalongs. I’m a sucker for anything that combines chocolate and peanut butter. But I don’t buy them because a) they are $3.50 a box and b) I eat the whole box in one sitting. (this may be why I need the Spanx)
5. When I was a little girl and someone would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would say, “I want to be a mommy, a teacher and an interior designer.” I’d say I came pretty darn close.
6. I’m left-handed.
7. My all time favorite movie is, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” I could watch it over and over and over and cry every time. Also on my list are, “Seven Angry Men,” “The Princess Bride,” and “You’ve Got Mail.” Although I can’t let the children watch the last one because the couples are living together. So maybe I should move it down the list, but it’s so clever and sweet and Tom Hanks is so likeable….I just can’t resist.
Now I am supposed to share seven blogs that I want to give this award to.
1. My real life friend Sara at The Other End of the Candle has just moved her blog. She’s funny and sarcastic and she throws a great party. You’ve got to check her out.
2. Angela at The Potter’s Hand is so kind. I get to meet her in a few weeks and I am really excited about it!
3. Mama Hen over at Long Days, Short Years and I got to have dinner on my way home from Blissdom. She is delightful and her blog is full of homeschool encouragement.
4. Janet at 6 Kids and Counting has a sweet blog about her unique family. They have several adopted, special needs children and want to adopt more. I also got to meet her when I met Mama Hen. They were both just wonderful and made my trip home more special!
5. Since we’re sharing great bloggers I met along the way, I have to include my friend from Home of the Peterson Clan. She was one of my first blog friends and we hit it off immediately when we met in Nashville. She wasn’t attending Blissdom. She drove for two hours (each way) just to meet me and I loved every minute we spent together.
6. Kim at American Mamacita is another adoption blog I really enjoy. She puts a different perspective on it and I love her links that she shares.
7. Last, but not least, is Laura at Decor to Adore. Her blog just spreads happiness. She’s doing a royal wedding series that is keeping me informed on Prince Andrew’s wedding with lots of great pictures and ideas. Plus she is my personal decorator extraordinaire….if she suggests it, I do it.
Thanks Deanne for giving me this stylish award. I love getting to know you all better!
Thanks for playing along!
Nice to find out some new info about you.
VCH and B3 are left handed to!
Wow! As much as I hate shopping, I NEVER thought that “I” and “Stylish” would ever be mingled as one! 🙂 Thanks for the compliment, Lisa!
Yep, I definitely reckon you deserve it. I love the ‘style’ of your blog as well as the content, and when I ever get around to updating my blog, I reckon I’m gonna take lessons from you!
I love hearing new things about bloggers….
I would like to accept this award while wearing my leopard slippers, worn flannel pants and and red sweatshirt that once made an inappropriate appearance on my blog during finals week.
I am deeply honored to be keeping such grand company and am somewhat stammering “Ah shucks!” I should have written a speech.
Tagalongs forever. I was a Girl Scout from Brownies through Seniors (I know, you are not suprised) in the days where you had to go door to door to sell your cookies.
Alas I fear that I am not doing a very good job on Royal Wedding Wednesdays as it is Prince William, and not his uncle, that is getting married. Hee hee.
Be blessed my friend.
Sweet! I’m a “real life friend”. I’d say that probably makes me the envy of nearly every other commenter on here…
Thanks very much. and for the record, you are certainly stylish!
I can NOT type either, who knew. This is such a fun post, I love learning a little more about you and you have inspired me……….. So glad to call you friend.
Cha Cha
Tagalongs are my weakness, and I, too, eat an entire box in one sitting. Husband eats a box of thin mints while I’m at it, and we resolve to never, ever buy girl scout cookies again. But then we do, every year, by the boatload, or at least my thighs look that way… sigh. I should probably go drown my sorrows in a box of Tagalongs.
