Hello, My Name is Lisa and I am a Furniture Moveaholic
Please don’t get sick of me. I know I am weird about changing the furniture, but I have to ask your opinions.
Remember before?
I really, really thought the living room was getting too heavily frilly and fussy. I am not sure how it happened since that look is really not my style. So I decided to swap the couches. The green one was on the other side of the room so I moved it under the silhouettes (or I should say, I had my minions do it).
Plus I am almost finished with recovering the wicker chairs. I didn’t have enough fabric to cover the large pillows I am adding to the back. But the cushions and skirts are done and it looks much better.
Here, maybe a look from the other side of the room will help.
For a room full of hand-me-down furniture, flea market finds and IKEA fodder….I think it’s looking OK.
So, what do you think? Keep the couches this way or put them back?
I think you all just need to come over and help me.
When can you be here? I’ll make brownies.
I really like the eclectic style of your living room and I like the green couch under the silhouettes!
I had to laugh when I read the title of this post…I am the same way…right now my livingroom is set up just about perfectly for our house and how we live in it. This makes me crazy, cause I want so badly to move it around!
I tell my husband to be thankful that I am happy with this kind of change and not buying new furniture all the time! hee hee
Btw – I do like the green couch under the silhouettes.
Hi Lisa, you Moveaholic you! Love the silhouettes — so cute. And I think you’re right — green couch under them looks best. But I’d still like to take you up on those brownies!
Well if your making brownies I’m on my way! Especially if I can sit like a fly on the wall and figure out how you keep a house so clean with 9 homeschooled kids running around!
I can be bought so easily!

Oh, and yes, I like the green couch under the silhouttes. It seems to give the room a better balance.
OH Goodmorning Lisa,
Ha- you make me laugh! It looks so nice this way…For me I think that it looks soft & cozy & draws attention to the silhouettes. That is my thought.
Now, I personally like the whole room so it looks good & blends either way…however looks more um…um…simple & flows softly this way!
I am thinking that yes, if I were awaiting a brownie & could look more closly & toch the fabric it would be easier to say for sure! 🙂 Now shall I bring some coffee or you do not drink coffee? there is tea…
I am wishing you a great week with lots of blessings~
~Lori
P.S. On th ‘ten most asked’ questions….(you know there would be the 11th)
How did you go from being….’not so organized’ to organized? How long into 9 children did this happen? (is that 12 or 11 1/2) Hope you do not mind me asking!
Have a good week!
I like the new arrangement. It makes the room come together like every thing in the room belongs in the room. Don’t move it back!☺
I’ll be over shortly for brownies.
Thank you.
☺ Celeste
Hi, My name is Pennie and I never move my furniture….but I love it when you do. I will log in and say that I, too, like the green couch under the new silhouettes. Since you asked for input, do I get to be real picky? Here goes…For some reason, I don’t like the long pillow with the single, horizontal stripe. I think it needs a black pillow. (You taught me that decorating lesson… 🙂 )
Love you,
Pennie
Maybe I should clarify….I only move my furniture when you come over and show me how. 🙂 Can you come today and bring your minions?
Pennie
You all are so helpful! It sounds like the green couch wins. I will keep it there (for a while at least). Pennie, you may be right about the pillow. I will think about it. But I know I don’t want black. I am trying to lighten the room. But maybe just some small pillows. I will try it. There’s no pillow shortage around here. 🙂 And why do I nee to bring my minions to your house? You have your own minions.
Sherri, Sheri, Lori-Marie, Celeste….wouldn’t it be fun to sit in the living room and eat brownies and talk about everything we’d like to fix about our houses? It sounds like the perfect afternoon! Lisa~
What? Don’t I get to come eat brownies? Bummer.
Pennie, you know you can have brownies here anytime! You just didn’t mention it in your comment. After we all have brownies at my house we’ll pack up any brownies that are left and come to your house to move your furniture around. How’s that? Lisa~
Okay. I am happy now. 🙂
The green couch focuses more attention on the art work because it is less frilly. You know we have the same afflication…that’s why I like you! I’m teaching my own minions to rearrange furniture. They like it as much as I do and most of them are boys!
I love all your beautiful and inviting spaces! Besides, who would be considered weird – someone who moves furniture or someone who is constantly rearranging flower beds and moving plants? Perhaps we’re both a little eccentric, but who wants to be considered normal anyway. Keep inspiring us with all the beautiful things you do!
This reminded me of growing up. Every time I wanted to re-arrange my room, my parents had me demonstrate my intended set-up with a scale model drawing and little furniture cutouts. 🙂
Did you say brownies? If so, hold on we’re on our way. I’m doing the very same thing right now – I have couches in the playroom, benches in the dining room and a carpet shampoo calling me back to finish the other half of the room 🙁 I think I like it this way better and your room was always one of my favorites so I don’t think it matters what you do. Wish you’d come over to my house and help me figure out what on earth I’m doing. Remind me to send you pictures of my dresser later and ask which knobs you like best …. I just can’t decide.
oh, and I also want to send you pics of a few pieces I saw in an over priced furniture showroom I think we can make for just a couple of dollars 🙂
ok, the couches, i love em. love, love, love the fabric. LOVE IT!!!
