Random Thoughts
This week will be spent prepping for Jacob’s graduation ceremony.
Today we’ve been going through pictures from the past 18 years. Where has the time gone?
Little things will make me teary. Like yesterday Jacob hopped up to open the door for me and he took the grocery bags from my hands. He did it completely without being asked. Well, I’ve asked him to do it many times over the span of his life. But rarely has he done it without “the look”. You know the one. Only moms can do it. This look says, “Think boy. Isn’t there something you are supposed to be doing right now?” and “I think you’re wonderful, now get your behind over here and help me,” all at the same time.
God gave all mothers the ability to make their children spring into action without saying a word. It is our job to use this power wisely.
With so many people coming for a visit, there are meals to plan and shop for. The guest house needs a good scrubbing and I need to lose 25 pounds. All by Friday. I might be setting myself up for disappointment. Especially since right now I am eating chocolate and watching “9 by Design.” It’s my new favorite show. Although I may send this couple my child training book when I’m finished writing it. If you’ve seen the show then you know they need it. It’s only fair. I plan to read their book.
Their book, “Downtown Chic,” is sitting in my Amazon cart right now. The other two things in my cart are a bottle of OPI nail polish and a Canon camera that costs over $1000. I’ll probably never actually buy any of it.
Tomorrow I will be taking a bunch of Jacob’s baby pictures to be enlarged and printed so I can display them on the food tables at the graduation. Yep. I’m a great mom. The whole, “Her children rise up and call her blessed,” may not be happening on Friday night as Jacob’s friends are enjoying pictures of him dressed up as Buzz Lightyear sipping tea.
My random thoughts. Planning a party has too many details so my mind wanders.
I hope you all have a wonderful week filled with the joys of children, home making and a few minutes to catch a few shows on Bravo.
I’m really hoping we can make the celebration! We’ll be getting back in town from camping all week on Friday, so if we’re not too stinky and cranky we’ll be there.
Oh what a special time. I am not sure that you read my blog when I wrote about an experience of my eldest making a life transition.

May this be a time of wonderfully made memories everyone will treasure.

Sounds delightful!
Our Sarah graduated from homeschooling last year.
As we were going through the photos, too, to make a slide show (my hubby made the video for all the co-op’s graduates–14 of them), I too, was teary–all summer after graduation, and even up till a month after she was at college–
Oh, my! did I ever miss my girl–my heart hurt a lot.
I hated that empty room she left.
Get ready.
But it does get better.
Hugs–I will be praying for you this week, that you can get through it and that you will lose 25 pounds by Friday 😉

Congratulations on the accomplishment…both his and yours! While I don’t have kids of my own, my family and friends kids graduation parties are keeping me busy this weekend.
Enjoy,
Kathy
