The Chairs
I found these chairs at the flea market.
I absolutely couldn’t resist them. They were calling out to me. “LISA! You NEED us!”
It took me three days, but I talked the guy way down to a price I could live with (read between the lines….a price I could explain to James) and brought them home.
What’s so great is that they can go outside or inside.
I decided not to paint them. I love the spots of rust.
These chairs speak my language…….
How could I NOT buy a chair that says “PEACE”?
I cut some circles out of scrap plywood, added foam and covered them in canvas with a linen ruffle.
I still need to add a bit of trim to cover the flaws that show my inexperience in covering circles.
SIGH….I’m going weak in the knees just looking at them.
They made their way into my kitchen. I’m not sure how they got there. I really think these chairs have minds of their own.
And they’re tough….even a big girl like me can sit on them without fear of breaking those tiny chair legs.
I’m so happy with them. It’s a peace/love fest.

LOVE them! Those are too wonderful, what a find! I have never seen anything like them….
They really are darling. If only I wasn’t a redneck, I could put things like that to use. Just darling.

I have some similar chairs calling my name in a local junk dealer’s garage… only they are painted red, which speaks my language. Sigh. Unfortunately, free is the only price I can justify so I am just plain gazing longingly at them every time I drive by.

Grateful, that’s what’s so perfect about them. You could even leave them outside in the rain with the seats missing and they’d be adorable!
petersonclan, you did just get new floors and couch. Your place is looking great! Lisa~
Wow, I love those chairs and especially the way they look in your house! What a great find!!!

Uh, Lisa…..I hate to tell you this, but……those chairs are calling my name TOO!!
I won’t listen to them though. I’ll totally resist. I refuse to let them come between you and me. Totally.
This is the kind of stuff that will land you in a decorating magazine someday. These are great little chairs. They make me long for a big ice cream sundae.

These chairs are fabulous. Seriously, the cutest thing I have seen on a blog for weeks. I absolutely LOVE them and I love how you covered and added the ruffle to the seats. This is the first time I’ve been to your blog. Can I also say that your blog itself — the layout — is awesome. Thanks for the comment on my blog — so happy to be able to add you to my blog list!

Hi Suzanne! I’m glad you like the blog layout. I am so happy with it. I really loved your muslin bedskirt. Thanks for the comment and I’m looking forward to getting to know each other. Lisa~
I have seen alot of iron chairs in my day but never any that say LOVE and PEACE.
Wish I could have had these for my 70’s Soiree.
