The Amazing Race, Episode 1

Can it be that we are already off on another adventure of The Amazing Race? My husband and I are thrilled to be able to run our faux race along with the other 11 teams. We started by flying from Los Angeles to Santiago, Chile. We are racing against cowboys, married couples, father & child, and previous Big Brother contestants just to name a few.

Right away we were sent to do a Road Block. One of us had to walk a high wire 120 ft above the city. My sweet husband said he would do it. He says he’s got experience because he’s done a ropes course with the scout troop. The wind howled and he had a rough time, but he made it.

Then we rode on a funicular. Have you ever heard of a funicular. We hadn’t. But we’re smart, so we figured it out. But another team went right past it and got a penalty because of it.

The next task was to finish painting a house. I am good at painting, so we sped right through that.

Then it was off to the Pit Stop. We made it right behind the second place team, but they got that penalty, so we were second. Wahoo! The Big Brother team got there first.

The poor married couple that got eliminated were so sad. He just couldn’t do the high wire. He should have taken tips from my guy.

We’re off for the next couple of months of running the race. It’s gonna be great!
