A Tiny Change

Call me crazy, but I’m still tweaking my bedroom decor. I moved a few things around.

I moved a shelf from the nursery into the bedroom and put it next to the love seat. The baby doesn’t need that shelf, right? I mean, what’s he gonna do with it anyway?

But it needed something….some little detail. These baskets needed some attention.

On top of the cabinet I put this stand. It used to have a glass dome on it. Oh it was so pretty, until one of the kids broke it. But I’m not bitter….at least not since I found this cute cage at Hobby Lobby to replace it. I’ve forgiven the child by now. See what a good example of Christ’s love I am? Inside of the cage is a little wooden box that my 18 year old son painted for me for Mother’s Day when he was 6. It’s one of my prized possessions (even though he’s the one that broke the glass dome, but don’t tell him I told you).

This bride and groom sat on top of our wedding cake almost 24 years ago. And they were the toppers for my parents’ cake 45 years ago. This tiny couple has seen a lot, and they’re still going strong.

Yikes! Someone needs to dust that fake plant! Any takers for that job? No? Great, now I have to do it.

I added some ribbon to the baskets; it was leftover from other projects. I know it seems like nothing, but I think it makes a difference. For one thing you can’t see the junk in the baskets anymore. Score!

The bedroom is coming together. I think it’s the little details that make all the difference.

By the way, since I took the pictures a few days ago I have taken down the mirror. I can’t decide exactly what I want there. Art? A bigger mirror? Family portrait? Hmmm….
