Bad Days Are Still a Blessing

Everyone I meet tells me the same thing…

“I am so busy!” “I am going crazy!”

Yep. It’s a busy time of year.

But today tops it all for me….and if you don’t mind I’m gonna tell you about it.

I was up until 2:00 AM the past two days finishing up a whole truckload of monogram orders.

A friend calls at midnight last night and needed my help. It was a genuine emergency. Her son broke his arm and had to have surgery. I was up and out the door early, early this morning to do what I could to help her.

A quick trip to WalMart for some things I forgot to buy yesterday.

Home by 4:00 and try to finish up the last of the monogramming.

Try to clean the guest house for the company that is to arrive tonight.

Get a call at 6:30 that husband had a car accident in a city 2 hours away. I must drop everything and drive to get him.

As I go to get the kids in the car one of them throws up. Joy.

I hope you’re still here because there is a good part…..

Broken arm boy is doing well. I had the $50 I needed to get my groceries. One friend offered to be on call for my kids so I could go get my husband. DUH is sore, but fine. My wonderful sister and her family went and got him and met me halfway. Another friend talked to me on the phone for an hour to help me stay awake. My other friend prayed with me and kept praying all evening. I just finished the last monogram order. The guest house is all clean and ready.

The world is right again.

Above it all…..no matter what….God is so, so very good to me. That thought never leaves me. I am blessed beyond measure. These are just bumps in the road. He loves me. And that, my dear friends, is enough.

    I have had a tough today also. Overwhelmed with grief about Herman's death. I'm not sure which is mine or that of my children. Probably equally of both. I have offered my prayers to both. What else can one do?
