A Christmas Lie
It’s OK to lie at Christmas, right?
“What darling? Oh no. That tote bag with your name on it isn’t for you. I monogrammed it for a customer. She must have a little boy with the same name as you!”
Uh oh. What happens on Christmas morning when he opens that tote bag and realizes that his mother lied to him?
Will he be ever believe me again?
Will he be scarred for life?
Will he grow to doubt my every word?
Will he even notice that it’s the same bag….thus nullfiying my worries?
Is nullifying a word?
Why yes actually. I am positive it is a word. (see, I’m getting better at lying)
I guess a little Christmas lie is OK. As long as I tell the truth the rest of the year.
Or get better at hiding the tote bags.
