Welcome

Welcome to my new Blawg.  No, that’s not a typo, “Blawg,” as I’m told, is a contraction of the term “Law Blog.”

I am a Texas Certified Public accountant, serving clients across the United States and abroad.  My practice consists of tax preparation and other traditional public accounting services, as well as representing clients in tax controversies in examinations (audits), before the IRS Appeals Division, and assisting clients with cases before the United States Tax Court.

More importantly, I’m a husband and homeschooling father of nine.  We live on a small farm in rural Texas where my office is located.  Eight years ago,  I moved my practice to the farm so that we could spend time together as a family, even if just briefly, during the long tax season work days.

I am also a first year law student.  I’m seeking a law license to better serve my clients with regard to legal issues and to be able to offer them full representation before the United States Tax Court.

My goal is to provide you with useful, and at times trivial, tax information, with perhaps a personal note thrown in here or there; and I’ll try to keep the legalese down to a minimum.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back soon.  In the mean time, feel free to look around.

  1. Glad to see the Tax Man back in the bloggin’ business – you have a way of making even taxes slightly more bearable, if only when we’re reading about them. Keep it real for this homeschool mom and I’ll keep reading and bookmarking for my Better (form-filling-out) Half.

  2. I just happened on your blog, and all unknown to you, you have done a stranger a favor! I’ve been procrastinating about doing my taxes (heard that before?), because in 2010 my husband had prostate cancer surgery and I knew I’d have to go through all those bills again. We do have good insurance, but guess what – the part we had to pay meets all your criteria for getting a tax credit for it! This will be an unimaginable help to us. Probably I’d have found this out anyway, but you made it so clear and simple. Thanks, and God bless.
