Winter Harvest is th’BOMB!

Well, I have had the most interesting 2 weeks ever.  After a week in Washington state getting my daughter settled in (thank goodness I left Portland just in time) I spent another week in Idaho where fir trees grow and casinos abound.

I had never been to a casino before last Monday.  Wait.  I take that back.  When I was a kid we went to Las Vegas, but I don’t remember anything about it.  Now I have had lunch in one, which was interesting.

My first time in a casino

But I didn’t go there to gamble. I went to attend the first week of Young Living’s Winter Harvest….it’s a time when the members get to go be a part of the harvest and distillation of the blue spruce and balsam fir trees.  It was one of the most magical things I have ever done….and I have been to “the most magical place on earth” several times. I had to pinch myself as I drove the big machine that cut the trees and stacked them to go into the chipper.

In this video….I am driving the machine.  That was so much fun!

There were 20 of us, total strangers, brought together by our love for Young Living essential oils.  We harvested and distilled….oh man I feel so connected to the distillation process now that I have had so much unrestricted access to the process.  We could go anywhere, watch, ask questions, do the work, learn, learn, learn.  Because I can’t keep it to myself, I am hosting a Facebook class tomorrow night called Winter Harvest Laugh & Learn (Tuesday, Nov 15) at 8pm Central time.  Come join us!

Speaking of 20 strangers, it was definitely interesting being there when the election happened.  We all came from different backgrounds and beliefs and it was challenging for everyone.  Some wanted to rejoice, others were crying, me…..I was neither.  But I definitely was not interested talking about it.  I just wanted to watch the results by myself and text with my family and soak in what was happening without the input of people I didn’t know.  It will be a part of the memory of this election for me, being there with these new friends.

It was also interesting trying to meld 20 people’s dietary needs.  We managed pretty well, but I was so glad to be home and you can be sure I drove through Chick-fil-A as soon as I left the airport and got myself some nuggets.  I just wanted to have control over what I ate for the first time in a week.

But we did have a lot of NingXia Red, NingXia Zyng, NingXia Nitro and Wolfberry Bars at our fingertips.  I felt SO good all week with 2 shots of Red a day and Nitro every afternoon.  I have all of that at home, but I tend to save it for when I really need it.  Now that I have experienced having it daily, I may need to increase my order.

Have you tried NingXia Red and NingXia Nitro?!

When I was preparing for this trip, I gathered up hats and gloves and scarves and a big coat.  But it was only in the 50s every day (maybe high 40s sometimes) so I never got cold and didn’t use any of it.  All of my new friends would be shivering and I was happy as a Texas clam.  I tend to be hot all of the time, so the upper 40s suited me just fine.

I like it cold! :)

The only reason I am wearing gloves in that pic is because we were cutting off branches with prickly needles.  When we finished I gave them to one gal who was so cold she needed extra hand warmth.

After we cut we distilled.  We loaded our freshly cut and chipped trees into the warehouse and into the tank for distilling.

Distilling Blue Spruce is amazing!

Then we loaded it into the “cooker” and let the steam distillation process do its thang.

Then we got to see how they test samples and even bottled a bottle for ourselves!

I can’t get enough of the blue spruce now.  I slept so well after being around it all day long and felt relaxed despite elections and other small stresses.  Y’all really need to get you some! Put it in your diffuser all winter for an uplifting, relaxing, holiday feel!

Now that I am back home I am off and running toward the next goal.  I’m diffusing my Blue Spruce and enjoying the precious memories of being there.  If you want to get your own oils to try, just click HERE to join with your Premium Starter Kit and I’ll send you my introductory packet filled with reference materials and goodies to get you going!

Have a great week!
