It’s time to get this summer started with some recipes for fun ways to use your essential oils. I have been so excited to read all of the recipes in this series that I almost bought myself a hula skirt! And if you’re here from Tamara’s place….aloha!
My all time favorite summer treat is guacamole. I’d eat it every day if I could!
Last year I went to a restaurant that served tableside guacamole which was possibly the best thing I have ever tasted. I watched them make it….made mental notes of the ingredients and went home to try to make my own.
If you follow me much, you know I am not a great recipe creator. I’m more of a burn-it-and-forget-the-salt kind of cook. But I figured, what’s the worst that could happen? I’d have to eat some less than perfect guacamole?! I was willing to risk it.
I like things simple, so this is what I came up with….
2-3 ripe avocados
1/4 c diced red onion
1/4 c chopped cilantro
1/4 c chopped tomato
garlic powder to taste
sea salt to taste
Young Living Lime Oil (4-6 drops)
Young Living Orange Oil (3-4 drops)
Here are the instructions….ready? Mix it all together. There. Bam!
Now, I don’t really like tomatoes so I left those out of mine. But the essential oils add such a wonderful kick….you will love it! And any of it can be adjusted to your liking. I like to keep the avocado the star so the flavor doesn’t get lost, but if you love garlic or onion….go ahead and play with it!
Now you know since I’ve been on my weight loss journey (83# lost so far!) I don’t eat chips, so I added a dollop of this deliciousness to my fajita salad. And I may have eaten a few extra bites right out of the bowl. With a spoon. I can’t stop.
I hope you’ll try the oils…..they really bring out the flavor of the avocado, which in my opinion, is God’s perfect food.
