Embracing Modesty, No. 45

Brrrr…..it’s been cold this week!  I have been pulling out the old stuff and I picked up a couple of small new things to help me look cute while I transition through my weight loss.

I showed you this pink top with black vest (which is one piece) a few weeks ago with a different skirt.  I like it here with just a long black skirt that’s made of travel knit.  A long necklace helps elongate your body and is slimming.

Later in the week is got really chilly so I wore my new red tights that I got at Target.  It’s fun to be festive.  The skirt is one that I took in so it still fits and the top is an old gray plaid top.  That top is so old I don’t even remember what child I had when I got it.  ‘Cuz that’s how I date things….by the children.

I may have enjoyed those red tights a little more than I should have…..

….because I decided to wear them again the next day.  Same skirt too….but everything else was different.  The black tunic style top is so big on me that I belted it.  I was having a Diane Keaton moment (I should have worn gloves!)

I also have the tights in a few other colors, so be on the lookout for more bright legs and matching tops.  It makes me happy.

  1. Looking GREAT, Lis! LOVE the belted look on the new, svelte you 😀 And you rock those tights! (hmmmm…..might have to go check those out for myself, lol) <3 ya

  2. How fun! I never know what to do about shoes and tights – I always thought they had to match, but my darling girl is ‘re-training’ me! You look amazing – so fun to see how much you’ve lost on this journey to good health!

  3. I love the tights! I have some in orange, teal, argyle, and stripes.(4 different pairs)
You look great! Congrats on losing the weight! I read all your posts…I just usually don’t comment.
I usually pin your modesty posts too. I love to find fun, feminine, modest ladies.

  4. Hello, I don’t think that I commented yet- I really enjoy your blog! I have been following for about 3 weeks. I love your ‘Embracing Modesty’ series!
Thanks for the idea or the red tights! How perfect- I just bought some!
Keep up the good work! 🙂

    1. Hi Cassie! Enjoy your red tights! Won’t the be great for Christmas?! I’m so glad you introduced yourself…. Lisa~

  5. I date things by the children too lol!! And you totally nailed it with the Diane Keaton comment!
I don’t enjoy winter clothing because I don’t like how it feels to be layered… You made it seem more appealing and fun.. 🙂

  6. Love the look of tights, but hate wearing them…I am short and they are never comfortable. BUT, I love wearing leggings with boots. So, my summer dresses, have cardigans added and leggings underneath to keep me warm and boots to keep my tootsies warm.

  7. Warming up is vital to your success in increasing muscle mass. As your muscles gain strength, they can become prone to injuries. If you warm up, you avoid injuries like these. Prior to any heavy lifting, do some brief, low-impact exercises. Follow this with some intermediate warm-up repetitions.
