Embracing Modesty, No 30

This weekend I will be in California for the Diamonds in the Rough Retreat.  While I pack, I try on my outfits so that I can be sure I have everything I need to wear.  So I decided to just take pictures for you to see what I will be wearing this weekend.

Keep in mind I have no make-up on and I didn’t fix my hair.  Obviously I will be doing those things before I leave my hotel room over the weekend.  I don’t want to scare anyone.

On the plane I will be wearing a simple pink t-shirt, white tank and my new gray skirt that I got on sale at Dillard’s.  It’s really, really thin and lightweight.  I will wear my silver Birkenstocks through the flights then put my cutie pie wedges back on and fix my hair….then I’m ready to roll.

On Saturday I will wear my new flared tank from Forever 21.  $14 baby.  I couldn’t resist.  It will be cute again in the fall over darker basics.  But for the summer I can put it over white.

And on Sunday I will wear the first white tank and gray skirt with a gauzy teal top.  New jewelry and it’s a fresh outfit without over filling the suitcase.

I have one last flight home on Monday so I can just put together whichever of these pieces are still clean.

I’ll see you next week with some more teen ideas!

  1. Great outfits!

Don’t be surprised if you get a pat down from tsa before your flights. When I flew I wore a skirt too and they patted me down.

I am going to Scotland soon and will wear pants on the flight because I don’t want to deal with the tsa.

  2. Your outfits are very flattering and I can really see where you’ve lost hose inches! You wiil look lovely for your conference! I always need to pack an extra outfit or two when we go away or even for a day trip because I’m a messy – I was at a city volunteer picnic this week with our son and didn’t even get close to the food table or eat a morsel, but still managed to get mustard on my sleeve! I go no where without my stain stick!

  3. It’s true about TSA pat downs or at least being pulled aside if one is wearing a long skirt!! Now my girls and I wear skirts that hit just below the knee to try to go through security without extra attention. Usually works. (Like we LOOK like terrorists hiding something up our legs……). Good grief.

  4. Where did you get the turquoise top in the last picture? I love that color and it looks great on you. 🙂
