Home School Mom’s Winter Summit

by Lisa on January 3, 2013

After homeschooling for 22-ish years, I still need encouragement and support.  It’s a tough job.

Nothing fills my homeschool mom tank like being around other moms in the same boat.  We face similar challenges and are going against the stream of normal.  And that’s why I love to go to homeschool conferences.  The sessions are great and the teaching is wonderful, but it’s the gatherings of women in the hallways and over dinners that really does it for me.  It lightens my load.

Since they are so refreshing, I am thrilled to be able to attend the Home School Moms Winter Summit!  It’s in Norman, Oklahoma January 25-26.  Their purpose is to “Renew your vision, refresh your heart, restore your strength.” Boy do I need all of that!

How about you?  Do you need a little encouragement and renewing?

Then you’re gonna love this….I get to give away a ticket to the conference!  If you’re within a day’s drive and you need some encouragement to get you through the rest of the year, I hope you’ll enter.  Even if you don’t win…..come on anyway!  It’s going to be such a sweet weekend.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

And here are a couple of other blogs giving away tickets….triple your chances to win!

See you there!

How I’d love to attend a homeschooling conference. Sadly, we’ve never had one in Scotland, or even in the whole of the UK …. I am thankful for the internet, which gives me *some* contact with other homeschooling mums. Yes, you’re dead right – I need the encouragement at times!

Have a great time! Enjoy every minute of it :)

I would love this! I have a 6th grade boy, 8th grade boy and 4 and 2 yr old girls! I’m REALLY struggling with how to make the homeschooling and the parenting of the little ones work! I would love to hear how other HS moms do it!!

Hi I am new to your blog, just found it actually due to this contest. I am excited to look around. I am in North Tx and would love to attend this. I am still fairly new to homeschooling. We did k-4 and now Kindergarten. I know a few homeschooling moms but they all seem way to busy to talk or comment and give advice on homeschooling. I would love to talk to more moms and learn more.

Cool Mom….are you really a cool mom?! I’ve always wanted to meet one. I’ve heard of them, but didn’t know if they actually existed. Sounds like you and I have a lot in common (except for the coolness, of course). I sure hope we get to meet in person. Lisa~

I missed our local convention last year because I have kids in the age gap between old enough to attend the children’s conference and young enough to be a nursing baby, and my husband was unavailable that day due to work and school. I’d love a day of encouragement!!!!

I am within a day’s drive! And I would love encouragement. With only one child left to homeschool, you would think it would be easier. But sometimes it is harder to buckle down and stay focused. Also, I need some creativity help for a new idea for space for us to do schoolwork.

I would love to go to the Homeschool Mom’s Winter Summit. I have 3 children (ages 6, 11, & 17), and this is our 3rd year to homeschool. I need more focus and organization in our home/school. Sometimes I feel very unequipped to do this. Encouragement and training is always welcome, appreciated, and much needed!

Lisa January 8, 2013 at 11:11 pm

Jennifer, It sounds like it would be a great way for you to get focus and find wisdom! If you get to go, be sure to let me know! (if you don’t win I mean…if you win I will already know…LOL!) Lisa~

I so wish we were within a day’s {or even two} of Norman, Oklahoma as I certainly love the purpose statement for the conference! We’ve been homeschooling for almost 10 years now and I’ve never attended a homeschool mom’s conference – it sounds like a real blessing. Thankfully I have a local homeschool group and we meet once a month as moms just to fellowship and encourage one another – and that’s a great blessing too! Enjoy the conference Lisa – I sure you will be a blessing and encouragement there.
