10 FREE Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Mom & Dad

This is it. We’ve covered little girls, big girls, little boys and big boys. Now we’re left with Mom and Dad.  They need a nice stocking too!

And my friend Andrea at The Cottage Market has even more ideas so I hope you’ll go over and check out her cleverness.

1. Calendar

Print it yourself and be sure to include everyone’s birthdays in each month. OR you could order it from Shutterfly….they’ve got some great deals going on right now.

2. Sweater Pillow

If you have an old sweater that’s still looking good but you just don’t wear it anymore, turn it into a winter pillow. My friends would love this; we like to recycle gifts for each other.

3. Pin Cushion

Pin cushions are easy to make and they’re a sweet reminder when Mom is stitching up hems of the person that made it for her.  We whipped this little fella up in less than 10 minutes.

4. “Clean Out Your Car” Coupon

Busy moms and dads always like to have their cars clean and shiny. My husband would love this coupon!

5. Ornaments

With a chalkboard ornament you can draw whatever you want on it. Make one for each member of the family and write each name in them. You can use scraps, buy wooden ornaments at the craft store and spray paint them with chalk paint, or just buy them on etsy!

6. Hot Chocolate

A quick, easy cup of hot chocolate hits the spot on a warm night. These bags are so cute from Brown Eyed Baker. My friend Sara has a great recipe for making your own mix. You could bag it individually in Ziplocs and tie a ribbon on the top.

7. Covered Journal

Cover a composition notebooks with an old map and words. Mom and Dad can keep a journal of life goals, places to go, dreams.  My daughter Faith made this one and has more in her etsy shop if you’re looking for ideas!

8. Homemade Lip Balm

This is nice for Mom or Dad. I used to make it a lot and it’s really easy, I’ve got to do it again! Beautylish makes it just like I used to. It would be a great way to use essential oils!

9. iPhone Speaker

No, seriously. I looked around and there are lots of store bought speakers in this style….they direct the sound out 2 ends. They’re not made with toilet paper tubes, but this is AWESOME! If you know the source of this picture I’d love to have it.

10. Photo Cube

Alphamom has an easy tutorial for making these.  I must be drawn to things you can make with 4x4s because I have a pile of them in my shop leftover from cutting pieces off of the top of the fence we are building.  I will definitely make some of these!

There you have it!  I hope this week long series of free stocking stuffer ideas inspired you to get creative with your Christmas stockings and save some money.
