A Trip to World Market

Last Friday I got to do something really fun!  I got to go to World Market and spend $75 to fix up a little spot in my house.  I love World Market.  They have unique, affordable items and such a variety.

I already owned some things from there: our compost bucket, coasters and several serving pieces.  So this time I decided to fix up my sofa side table for the fall.  Fall……ahhhhh…….

I wandered around the store for a while, taking it all in.  Gift wrap, dishes, food, jewelry, candles, on and on.  But I kept being drawn to the great selection of lamps.

I picked out a burlap lampshade.  It was calling to me….”Lisa…..you NEED me…..”

Then I gathered up some more pretties and headed to check out.

When I got home I was all a twitter to play with my stuff.

I pulled everything out of the bag and studied my treasures.

I was sad to see there was a casualty.  In this Texas heat I should have known better than to leave the candles in a “bendy” spot in the car.  One of them didn’t make it home in the same shape I bought it, but it’s OK….the rest of the things were perfect.

I clipped apart the flowers, stuck some skewers into the little felt pumpkins and tucked it all into the blue Thanksgiving bucket.  I hung the lamp, and arranged it all together on the table by my couch.  In just 20 minutes I was ready to sit and admire my pretty side table.

JOY!

It’s fresh and new and happy and welcoming.

It’s hard for me to decide which I like better.  Is it the burlap lamp, or the globe, or the fall bucket?

I even used the paper they wrapped my breakables in to make little paper curls.  I just cut it into strips and curled it like curling ribbon.

Thanks World Market for giving me such a treat!  You can follow them on Facebook, Twitter, G+ and Instagram.  Oh…and Pinterest of course!

    1. Thanks Mandy! They sell the kits for hanging them at World Market. It was easy, peasy! Lisa~

  1. Do you shop at the one at the Rim? I was just there last week (it’s only 10 minutes from where we live) and also found a cute lampshade on sale for half price, but BOO! it didn’t fit any of my lamp stands. Good reason to return it. I buy my Torani Caramel Syrup there for my coffee whenever I have a WM coupon. Maybe I’ll see y’all there sometime….It IS a fun, colorful place to shop/browse! Sorry about your candle. Can you warm it up again and try to reshape it? Or chop off the end that is warped? Yeah, wax and anything with chocolate in it will suffer even in this wonderful Texas Fall weather. I simply j.u.s.t. l..o.v.e. living here!!!

    1. Pam, yes…I shop at the Rim usually. But this time I went to the one over on 410 across from North Star. I had to go down that way for something else so I went there.

I did chop off the end of that candle and use it. I should have mentioned that you can sign up for their email and get coupons. Thanks for adding that!

Maybe I’ll see you around the Rim sometime. I’m there about once a week. Lisa~

  2. The globe is my favorite, in fact I did a double take with it. I went back to the original picture of all your treasures to see what the candle stick looked like and how well that globe would stay on there. I love how you stacked up the books to bring the globe to the right height, beautiful! Good luck on the sweepstakes!
