Tuesday Catch-Up

I love to update the blog on Monday mornings…but I spent yesterday driving 13 hours to a writer’s workshop near Kansas City.  It seems like we barely cleaned up from the blog conference and the Invisalign luncheon before we had to drive off in the wee hours of the morning.

Last Friday James and I snuck off for some anniversary time together.  He took me to an afternoon movie which he thought would be romantic, but it turned out to be about war and was pretty violent.  I had my eyes closed for most of it.  Not the best date movie.  Then afterward we went to Macy’s so I could get some makeup.  Oh yes…we know how to have a good time.

Last weekend was full of meal planning and hugging and me grabbing the boys as they passed me in the hall and squeezing them so they’d know how much I will miss them while I’m gone.  We planned all kinds of fun for their week.  Every day will have a theme.  Monday was “Water Day” which involved swimming and playing wii Oceans and making clear Koolaid.

This morning I called to talk to them and Levi said, “Mommy, guess what day it is….Monopoly Day!”  He’s excited about playing with Monopoly money and cutting game pieces out of construction paper and eating cookies shaped like Monopoly property (square cookies are interesting when you call them Monopoly property).

They will have so much fun they will barely notice I’m gone.

But I’ll notice.  I wish they were here now for a few more squeezes.

I will be getting plenty of alone time this week while the girls go to workshops and visit with friends.  I was planning to do a bunch of updating on the blog this morning, but instead I’ve spent the past 2 hours watching “Kung Fu Panda 2” on TV.  What is it about a hotel room that makes me want to lie there and do nothing?

I will to work soon…..right after Po wins the battle with the evil peacock.

Have a great week!  I hope you do something relaxing.

  1. Oh how fun! Well the relaxing bit… not necessarily the driving bit! Are you driving the entire 13 hours in one day by yourself? I’ve done that before but not anymore… I sleep too easily in the car especially when I’m the driver. Put me in the passenger seat and I’m wide awake! ha ha! Well enjoy your writer’s seminar! I do think I am going to do a little embroidery of Lily’s pillow cover… things like vov vov, mong mong, guf guf.

Have a wonderful day! and once again enjoy your trip!

  2. Umm, yeah I just realized you did NOT make the trip alone…. and who said mothers can read, type, and hold a discussion with their children ALL at the same time??? Ha ha!

    1. Hi! Yes, I drove the whole way myself. I could use you in the passenger seat. The girls talk to each other while I drive, which I enjoy listening to them, but it would be fun to have you talk my ear off the whole time.

      Enjoy your needlework! Lisa~

  3. I checked out your blog and other links on your website. Enjoyed it. Hope your girls have enjoyed the OYAN workshop as much as mine have. Blessings!
Laura, your neighbor across the hall who met you at breakfast the first morning here. : )
