Weekend Lovliness

Good morning!  This beautiful weather has me up early and singing and excited for the day.

Last weekend’s bridal fair came and went without a hitch.  It was not well attended and none of the vendors were making sales.  I wasn’t discouraged because I felt it was something I was supposed to do and the satisfaction came from knowing I was doing the right thing and not worrying about the results.

All of the work we did on the booth really paid off.  It was darling.

I give credit to all of my trips to the flea market…we’ll call it research from now on.

We set up a small table to look like a reception at a country wedding…..cute, cute.

It was like a burlap spectacular, complete with our newest additions to the shop, napkin rings and glass jars.

I had the bright idea to pour rice into one of our silhouette buckets and use it to hold chalk (for labeling the jars).  But everyone thought it was cigarettes.  Awkward.

Our book page bouquet was a big hit.  I may list them on the shop.  It was fun to make.  What’s a few hot glue burned fingers in the name of cuteness?

All day I would stop and give myself a moment to smell the little roses in the hanging jar.  Bliss.

We made a catalog out of an old book.  The pages are filled with pictures of our products.  My girl Faith did the cover….she’s so like me.

More table marker ideas.

Our family number pillow, one of my best sellers.  And the little basket.  We will be using it for an Easter basket, but for today it’s filled with Duplos and Levi’s stash of favorite things.  He’s been carrying it around with him ever since we unloaded it from the van after the fair.

My helpers….thing one and thing two.

We’ll be listing all of the new products in the shop this week.  I’m excited to show you all of our treasures.

All in all I’d call it a success.  Not because we had great sales, but because we felt the peace that only being in God’s will can bring.  It’s not always about money.  The girls learned some great lessons and I got to spend the whole day with them.  We saw the fruit of our labors and met some wonderful local business people.  I have tons of new products and we’re excited for the future.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3: 5-6

Have a WONDERFUL week!

  1. What an absolutely gorgeous booth. You know it often takes only one person to stand up ad take notice. I see a bright future ahead for you.

Thank you SO very much for your prayers.

  8. I can’t wait to do something like this with our girls! I’ve done craft shows/booths by myself, but would totally enjoy the company of my daughters, being old enough to help out and pitch in ideas, etc. [Right now, their ages are almost 5, 3 and 7 months] Your whole setup looked great and it’s encouraging to hear that you had such a lovely time! 😀

  9. Oh I wish I had that kind of talent. I can go through a store or market and see things I like then just have no idea how to put everything together! I love the theme, such a great idea for a booth, the cigarette chalk is too funny – they must not know about the chalkboard craze 🙂
    Lovely images!
