The End of the Week

I’m bummed that I can’t do my regular Pinterest Friday.  Pinterest is messing up this morning and won’t let me click on an of the links.  I will try again next week.

Instead I will share with you some of my favorite blog reads from the week.  This is by no means all of the great posts I have read….just a sampling.

My friend Cyndi is writing a series (or maybe it’s not a series, just several posts at once, I’m not sure) on beauty tips.  She’s sharing her favorite make-ups and tips for women over 40, but my favorite was her post called The Secret To A Beautiful Glow.

Cha Cha wrote about her daughter doing a Spa Day for the girls in the house.  It’s the sweetest thing!  I am wondering, however, why she didn’t do it when we were visiting her last month.  I could have used a pedicure.  Hee-hee

Amy at Raising Arrows has done series called 10 Days to a Peaceful Home which I have really enjoyed.  It’s simple, Christ honoring encouragement.

I read so many of your blogs and they are all beautiful and uplifting, I’m having a hard time picking just a few to share today. Two ladies come to mind that have been a great source of encouragement to me as they are just a few steps ahead of me in life.  Becky has recently married off her first born son and is pretty much madly in love with her new daughter-in-law.  It’s beautiful to watch.  And Anne has her first grandchild and is just a little bit proud of her precious family.  Both Becky and Anne love the Lord and seek to honor Him.  I call them my friends even though we have never met or even talked on the phone.  Isn’t the blog world funny like that?  Anyway, it doesn’t get much better than two blogs written by older women (just a teeny bit older of course, not OLD, oh gosh, how do you say that without sounding like you’re calling someone old?!) that highlight the joy of every day.

Hmmmm…now that I look back over today’s post, maybe Pinterest messing up wasn’t so bad.  I do love y’all and your blogs cheer me up.  I’m glad I took a minute to mention a few of them.  I’ll have to do this again!

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Today my 14 year old son and I were discussing woks and how an “old” wok is to be desired over a new one (he was thinking he should get a new one for Grampa for Christmas…) I explained how that old wok was well seasoned – that’s what makes it so much better. He concluded that I must be “seasoned” rather than “old”. I’m okay with that…

  2. One older woman, checkin’ in! 🙂 You (and your blog) are such a blessing to me–thanks for mentioning my blog.

I really do believe you need to pack up your entire family and bring them all to Manteo for dinner. We’ve got a really big dining room table and we could eat, talk about words, and then go walk by the ocean.

Sound like a good idea to you?

  3. Aren’t you just the sweetest thing, ever?!! Dear Lisa, we are friends!!! And sometime, I bet I WILL actually get to hug your neck in real life. 🙂 Hope your weekend is wonderful.
